Film Academy Ireland was created in December 2005. The idea was and is to help amateur film makers in Ireland to both make films and have their work shown on an actual cinema screen.Our first Amateur Short Film Showcase was held October 2nd 2006 in the UCI Tallaght. It was a great success!This year we are holding another in the Civic Teatre Tallaght Wednesday 13th February which will include films:‘The Void’ a psychological twister produced by Chris Dunne and highly rated by Kevin Spacey’s Trigger Street website.‘The Hellfire Club (2007)’ winner of the Academy’s script competition see a young gambler bets his soul on a roll of the dice. Produced by Film Academy Ireland, Directed and Written by Paul O’Halloran and shot on location at the Hellfire Club in the Wicklow Mountains. Keep an eye out for the familiar faces from the current BBC TV series ‘The Tudors’.‘Reign of the Fallen’ a 55 minute mini feature written, directed and produced by Irish Americans David Mc Cleavy and Jonathon Wang. This Star Wars tribute has won a string of awards in the states and the creators are very excited about having it shown in Ireland for the first time.All are welcome!
