When Aristotle, the Great Greek philosopher, approached the idea of virtuous actions or determining the virtue of an individual, he starts with this particular train of thought.
In order to judge whether or not an individual commits a virtuous action, 3 conditions must be met.
1. The Person who commits the virtuous action(s) must absolutely understand what they are doing.
This insists that the actions were not committed by accident or happenstance.
2. The Person who commits this virtuous action(s) must perform it devoid of hidden agendas.
This condition says that the person is not performing this action to receive anything in return.
3. The Act(s) that this Person performs must proceed from a fixed and unchangeable disposition.
This particular condition assures the inevitability that this act(s) WILL happen again, and that it was not a one time action.
Hope this educated you about what you do and what people do for you.
