That's the problem with 'insane', sometimes it just looks like 'happy'

About Me

I like to think of myself as a chilled out, cheerful individual, but I am more of a stresskitten in reality!I am happily married to a lovely, sexy scotsman
who is so good to me despite my being a total diva.
I am the Mother of 3 fabulous teenage kids. Trevor is 21, Caitlin is 19 and my baby Lily is 16. They are beautiful to look at and even more importantly they are beautiful on the inside. They are my reason for living.Caitlin is currently just finished with 6 months of backpacking around Australia and has just shaved her head. Trevor is living in Cape Town and is looking for a job if anyone needs a junior programmer? Lily is still in high school and lives with her Dad in SA.I am living in South Africa where I work as a Business Analyst. My hubby and I are in the process of buying a guesthouse. We are due to move in in December.

Isn't it gorgeous?
Jack of all trades, me! I trained as a Radiographer and I have done all manner of jobs from Interior Decorator to Telephone Switchboard Operator.
I was born and raised in Georgia and I am a real southern girl,I won't go anywhere without my lipstick!
I lived in Los Angeles for 7 years after university, and this is where my older 2 kids were born. I then moved to South Africa and lived in Knysna, George and Joberg. Lily was born there. I then moved to Belfast N. Ireland, and am now in England for 2 weeks until I moved to Hout Bay just outside Cape Town in South Africa. I miss the lifestyle and I miss being able to see my children more often.
I have been lucky enough to travel a lot and some of my favourite places are Pisa and Florence in Italy,
Parisand Provence in France, San Francisco,
New York
Corfu, Puerto Banus, Portugal, Sardinia, Malaysia, Paradise Island in the Bahamas, Singapore for shopping, Brunei for the jungle, and Dublin for the people! But South Africa has my heart.

My Interests

I love art, museums can amuse me for hours.
A friend recently exposed me to this artist - Mati Klarwein. I love his work, it is bold and riveting. This piece is my favourite and is called 'The Blessing'.

I collect the art of Sara-J. This is my latest acquisition, it is called Lemon Drops.I have an MR2 convertible sports car which I will have to sale now that I am leaving the UK. Anyone want to buy a sexy wee car?I love driving with the top down!My favourite cocktail is a margarita with lots of salt...yum.

I'd like to meet:

New friends, old friends and people looking to chat. I love people who can make me laugh and who are not put off by my weird sense of humour. I am not looking for love or cyber sex. I don't want to see you naked or your manly bits. Don't bother if that is your agenda as I am happily married. Yes really. Honest. There, now I have confirmed it you don't have to mail me to ask me.I would love to meet Anthony Keidis, Madonna

and Johnny Deppbut if I could travel back in time I would add to the list Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and my Grandmothers who were full blooded Cherokee and who died before I could know them.
I have a strange fixation on tinkerbell, I so wanna be her.

Music:

My favourite all time band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Anthony Keidis is a god. Yum.I love all sorts of music, I really liked both of the Killers CDs and the Kooks are fabulous. I have Amy Winehouse's latest CD on permanent loop in my car at the moment, I prefer to her last one but I like that a lot too. I am mad on Mark Ronson's CD at the moment. Really like it. I like chilling to Jill Scott, Sunshine Anderson, Erykah Badu and Angie Stone. I am loving St Germain whom I just discovered even tho it is not new (better late than never). I like Billie Holliday and Patsy Cline. Classics. I love jazz, blues, soul, R&B and hip-hop. Anything from Alternative to Opera.
Opera makes me cry.
In a good way.I love to dance
and I love Elvis.

And I love to laugh.

Movies:

I really enjoy watching classic movies, the old ones are the best. I adore Marilyn Monroe
and Audrey Hepburn, they were both so beautiful. One of my all time favourites is Breakfast at Tiffany's.In her prime, no one was as beautiful as Liz - Cat on a Hot Tin Roof was a brilliant film.I think Tennessee Williams was a very talented writer. He wrote with such passion.
As a southern girl I have watched Gone With the Wind many many times, it still makes me cry. Vivien Leigh was wonderful in both Gone with the Wind and Streetcar Named Desire, she was a fabulous actress.
I loved Thelma and Louise,it is a great chick flick and has the added bonus of having Michael Madsen in it. I loved him in Reservoir Dogs, I have loved him in everything really, he is so beautiful...And I enjoyed all of the Tarantino filmsUma Thurman is one of the most beautiful women in the worldOne of my favourite actors is Steve Buscemi, I have a secret obsession with him.I love the Theatre, The Lion King is fabulous no matter what your age and I have seen Rocky Horror about 100 times either live or on DVD.I like sensual films with a bit of intrigueI think this was a very erotic film and is to be recommended for a cozy night in front of the fire
One of my other favourite directors is Keven Smith, I love all of his movies!
Will Ferrell is one of my favourites and he is brilliant in all except Bewitched. That sucked. My favourite film of the last few years has to be Napoleon Dynamite. It is so hilarious, I have seen it dozens of time and still nearly wet myself laughing.I enjoy most of Mike Meyers stuff, Wayne's World is a classic!
Team America is so funny - but as it is the same team that does South Park, it would be!
I love horror films but my kids refuse to go to the cinema to watch them as I am too embarassing when I scream!

Television:

I am addicted to Lost, but I have unconventional taste and it is not Sawyer or the Doc that do it for me, I love Daniel Dae Kim, a six pack and those cheekbones!I love ER but have missed a lot of it, a new series has just started in the UK. I love CSI, and Gary Dourdan makes it all worth watching, how hot is this man?I really enjoy Desperate Housewives and I still miss Sex and the City.
I love reality TV, the X-factor, American Idol, Pop Idol, Big Brother - I love them all. Sad isn't it? I think it is due to my voyeuristic nature. I am fascinated with Dog the Bounty Hunter, it is not supposed to be a comedy but I laugh myself silly over Beth and Dog. Do they own a mirror? I love watching Miami Ink, those guys are true artists and I would love to get my next one from their shop!
I think the Office is hilarious, Ricky Gervais is a Comedy God.The American version is funny as well.
I love Kath and Kim and Catherine Tate. They are all very funny. I still love South Park and the Simpsons as well as Family Guy.

Books:

I love words, I love to read, and I read voraciously ...fiction and non-fiction books, magazines, anything really. I am usually reading about 3 books at the same time...one light lit, one self help and one of any other type. That way depending on my mood I have a suitable book.
If you are unfamiliar with Paulo Coelho's books then read one of his books and you will be hooked. He is very deep, and makes you think about life from a different perspective. A quote from him which I like - “Words are tears that have been written. Tears are words that need pouring out. Without them no joy can shine, no sadness can come to an end. So, thank you for your tears.”
I think Dita Von Teese is stunning!

Heroes:

My kids are my heroes. So is my husband who is the rock which all my emotions crash against and who is always there looking out for me and keeping me stable.Eleanor Roosevelt was pretty amazing. I live by this quote: “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience by which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.”
"Sappy pathetic little me
That was the girl I used to be"
