BRAD WILSON: BIOGRAPHY
For the past 24 years I have been a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist. In the late 80's and early 90's I toured extensively in Canada with numerous bands, one of which was featured by MTV as the best underground band in Canada. Although in the past year I have been involved in several projects, my main focus is a band I helped put together called SFD (Originally called Six Feet Deep). SFD is a band that delivers an angst driven rock sound with a heavy groove. Some music industry professionals have dubbed the band "The Real Deal", based on the band's riveting live show that delivers a crushing wall of sound. Although not necessarily sounding like them, SFD has been compared to such greats as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Many fans have likened SFD's live performances to being caught up in a gale force wind with their feet stuck to the ground. In the past year SFD has made it onto FM and AM radio in North America and numerous internet stations around the world reaching an estimated weekly audience of over 500,000 and in many cases is the top requested band. I recently was interviewed by Broadcast Asylum Radio and over 300,000 had tuned in! In 2007 the band also inked a t.v. and a movie deal that has our track Little Girl as the theme song for a new television show and 5 of our tracks are featured in 509 Films' flick Vertical Ascent which is currently in theatres worldwide. In 2007 the band brought their 2007 Road Rage Tour into the U.S. when we showcased by opening for Kix. The show went extremely well and the band has been invited back. Many more U.S. dates are now materializing and the band also plans to make a huge return to Canadian venues in late 2007 and early 2008. SFD has recently received interest from both Indie and Major labels and we're hoping to secure a deal within the next few months. In 2006, SFD was the studio band for Daniel MacMaster's solo effort Stone. Daniel is the former lead vocalist of the platinum selling band Bonham that featured Jason, son of Led Zeppelin's John Bonham. You can hear 2 tracks from this album on my player titled "Season Of The Witch" and "Crave".
I like music from many genres...from Sade to Metallica. My favorite music as a performer is heavy groove rock. My current favourites are: Theory Of A Deadman (Gasoline has got to be my pick for 2006!), Three Days Grace, Daughtry, Breaking Benjamin, Shine Down, Disturbed, Avril Lavigne Default, Nickelback, Foo Fighters, Thornley, Stone Sour, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Sara Evans, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, INXS (With J.D.), Nine Inch Nails, 3 Doors Down, Seether, Fuel, STP, Velvet Revolver, Econoline Crush & Ernie (singing Rubber Ducky), just to name a few. My fave Indie bands include The Joys and one of the best female rock singers I have ever heard, Purple Pam.
I'm into some crazy ass stuff like caving, climbing & scuba. Hey, you only live once! My favourite place on earth is Bonaire and I'm not telling you where it is so it stays just the way it is...no McDonald's, no big ass shopping malls...just donkey's on coke, friendly people and good vibes!
