About Me

The Definition of DISTOPIATE (dis-toe-pee-it) Dystopia+Opiate=Distopiate
1. Groove oriented hard rock music with a heavy edge and a focus on melodic/soulful vocals and harmonies.
2. The spectrum of feelings and desires of a peaceful yet strong rebellion toward absolute control. A desire to live in a truly free land and an actually natural environment. Expressing a positive hope for an alliance of a cohesive consciousness towards a common goal of a more loving community and an actual united mentality toward world peace. Enabling the individual to have the capabilities to be him/herself and to acquire the tools to be oneself without being forced through a generally conformed education and lifestyle.
3. The mental battle against spirits and man amongst a world of disease. Describing the physical battle against a uniformed structure built on lies and oppression.
4. The musical and rhetorical reaction to this environment and the people in power who make it so. An artistic non-violent weapon against corruption in government. An uncovering of lies hidden beneath truth. The fight against monotony, monopoly, and the dumbing down of society.

Band Members: My name is MICHAEL DAVIS and I created DISTOPIATE. I wrote all of the music for every instrument and wrote all of the lyrics. I programmed the drums (and hit some real ones too) for a hybrid drum sound, played bass, rhythm and lead guitars, sang lead and back-up vocals, and recorded it. My first solo album "Born Into Hell" was mixed by Jason Ringelstetter and mastered by Chris Parks at THE TONIC ROOM in Boise, Idaho. Check them out on my top friends.
