About Me

After the end of A Short Apnea’s experience we met us to reflect on our collaboration through several bands . In twelve years we exchanged experiences, played music and experimented, reed and listened; we had strong convergences and divisions, born and dissolved plans. Years in which we have developed, sometimes unconsciously, ours personals codes which have been the spirit of our relationship with the music and with the persons with who we have created it (in past and now). Therefore we thought that it was the moment to create something that is the expression of all our experiences lived together.. So Uncode Duello is born like a duo, where the codes come deny and revealed and re-elaborate at the same time, where the collaborations with new and old friends are the field to develop in a deeper way our comunication and being through music. The cd is born from two long sessions of improvisation with two different drummers: Christian Calcagnile and Lucio Sagone, and from the following selection of the material, interacting with other persons to who we asked a contribution: Federico Ciappini and Andrea Reali to the voices, Alberto Morelli to the piano and the voice. It has been recorded, elaborated, mixed and mastered without the technical aid of nobody. The explored territory is on the border of the "sonorous landscape" in which A Short Apnea moved, in a musical limbo musical where free-rock and improvisation are the masters. Techniques and skills recall the ways that A Short Apnea used in past. The massive insertion of voices, concrete musics and electronic treatments imposes a different vision of arrangements and mixing. Uncode Duello is published by Wallace Records and Ebria Records, old and new friends, expressions of a common vision to mean the independence.----------------------------------------------- ---------- 2007-------Ex Æquo" is the second release from the duo Paolo Cantù and Xabier Iriondo, phrenetics musicians, movers of wide series of live and studio projects. And "Ex Æquo" benefits of these experiences: beginning from the huge deployment of instruments (electric, table and baritone guitars, organs and piano, clarinets and tapes, kalimba and electronics) to the collaborations: behind the drums we find again Cristian Calcagnile and Lucio Sagone (already in the first debut album) Claudia De Simone (Agatha) and Roberto Bertacchini (Sinistri). At the voice there's the "old" friend Federico Ciappini (with the duo in the mid-90s rock heroes Six Minute War Madness) to remind as for Uncode Duello, this band is the latest project of a way started years ago with Six Minute War Madness and A Short Apnea. Thanks to this contributions "Ex Æquo" is a full-colour sound, a kaleidoscope of rock songs, nervous and intense instrumental suites, proudly recorded and mixed by themselves----------I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
