The Pants are 6 guys who are loud, borderline obnoxious, and think they can skateboard. Formed in late 2005, The Pants started as a 3 piece with brothers Mike and Matt, and their drummer Woody. They often played together at parties, bars, and essentially any venue that you take them. In the Summer of 2006, a neighborhood friend, Jeremy, sat in on practice and sang some covers with them. After feeling a musical chemistry, the 3 of them invited him into the band.In the Fall of 2006, the 4 of them headed into the studio to record their first demo/EP entitled "Brian Smells!", a play off of a close friend and the Suburban Legends. The album featured 4 original songs and, with the extra time available, they recorded a cover. They ended up putting these on CD-R’s and sold them at shows. Still being a budding ska band, all 50 CDs where burned on to non-music CD-Rs, which confused several fans.
After releasing "Brian Smells!", the 4 of them wanted to add horns to their ska-punk crew. Micheal came in on sax, but needed help writing horn lines, so The Pants recruited The Dans from CIO to help assist in the writing process. After writing the horn line for their song "4/20", the chemistry just seemed right, and The Pants met their stable lineup for the next year.
Over the next year and a half, The Pants played shows over the Tampa Bay Area with local and national bands alike. Then, after constant shows, The Pants attempted to record another EP of newer songs, but something always seemed to get in the way, and this frustrated them to the point of inactivity in the Fall/Winter of 2007.
After being inactive for a few months, The Pants finally started to become active and play together again with a whole new attitude towards writing and performing. The Pants then decided that in light of this attitude change, that they would lie low for the Summer of 2008 to write all new songs and come back to the scene that made them what they are today. With all that is ahead of them, The Pants are working hard to make the 2008/2009 year their 3rd and best year since conception.
