About Me

The founder and owner of Atlantis Studio in Nashville is Grammy Award winner, producer/engineer Voytek Kochanek. I began working in recording studios in 1988. After getting my recording education at Los Angeles Recording Workshop, I started out as assistant engineer at few major L.A. studios such as Track Record, Cherokee and Paramount Recording Studios. Within few months I moved on to become first engineer at Paramount Recording. While working at this studio I began to develop my own engineering and production style. During about 4 years at Paramount I had the opportunity to work with many major recording artists such as Ice Cube, Ice-T, Club Nouveau, Johnny “Guitar” Watson, Pharcyde, Brand New Heavies, Taj Mahal, LA Guns and many others. After leaving Paramount Recording I began freelancing at many other L.A. studios such as Record Plant, Ocean Way, Cherokee Studios etc. working with more known LA artist: Peter Frampton, Whitesnake, Philip Bailey, Patti Austin, Steve Vai and Ozzy Osbourne. In 1995 I moved to Nashville, TN for a much needed change of pace and family lifestyle. In 1996 he began building his own recording facility: Atlantis Recording Studio. I was making my name known in my new surrounding as a quality-oriented engineer. Also I was focusing more on finding and producing young Nashville talents, bringing my own distinctive studio style to Music City, USA. Right now I'm between Nashville and L.A. most of the time, working for Terry Lewis and Jimmi Jam with Avila Brothers (check them out). Our recent projects included Michelle Williams, Chaka Khan (Grammy Award Winner for the best R&B album of the year}, Patti LaBelle and Usher.
