ENGLISH - Formed in the summer of 96, TAVÚ took shape as a visionary in the genre of spanish heavy music, incorporating melody, brutality, and technicality into their unique sound.
This recognizable sound has metamorphosed and evolved throughout the years, growing and maturing throughout periods of experimentation, the continuous injection of new elements and the unique perspective of each individual member.
The solid delivery of their songs, the subtle details in their music, as well as their explosively energetic live shows have spread outside of Puerto Rico, with tours in Costa Rica and in the Dominican Republic, as well as with material releases in the US and Latin America.
As an established band, TAVÚ has shared the stage with thrash metal kings ANTHRAX, hardcore icons WALLS OF JERICHO, crossover legends D.R.I., mainstream giants KORN, local and international heroes PUYA, Californian/Puerto Rican latin metalcore fusionists and ex-Puya members ANKLA, Santo Domingo thrashcore demons SANTUARIO, destructive hardcore giants FULL BLOWN CHAOS, metalcore stars GOD FORBID, melodic death geniuses EDEN AD, as well as with an inmense number of amazing bands from Puerto Rico’s outstanding and diverse musical community.
TAVÚ's first full length, self titled debut album won much critical acclaim at home and abroad, capturing with crystal clarity the energy and projection of the band, thanks to an outstanding production by LEO ALVAREZ (MATTADOR, SLIMY NUGGETZ, COABEY, TRIBE, TAPIZ) and a long history of live shows. TAVÚ has also taken part in two international tribute albums, lending their take on Red Hot Chilli Pepper's "Power of Equality", and Rage Against The Machine's "People of the Sun".
After some time off the stage to work on new material and to solidify a new lineup, TAVÚ is back and ready to shred the stages of Puerto Rico and Beyond once again, as well as preparing a new album. Keep your eyes peeled!
ESPAÑOL - Creado en el verano del 96, TAVÚ se formó como visionarios en el género de la música pesada en español, incorporando melodía, brutalidad, y complejidad técnica a su sonido único.
Este sonido reconocible ha pasado por momentos de metamorfosis y por una evolución constante al pasar los años. Ha ido creciendo y madurando a través de periodos de experimentación, la continua inyección de elementos nuevos y la perspectiva individual de cada integrante.
La ejecución solida de sus canciones, los detalles sutiles en su música, y sus explosivamente energéticas presentaciones en vivo se han esparcido fuera de Puerto Rico con giras a Costa Rica y a República Dominicana, al igual que material circulando en los EEUU y América Latina.
Como una banda establecida, TAVÚ ha compartido tarima con reyes del thrash metal ANTHRAX, iconos del hardcore WALLS OF JERICHO, leyendas del crossover D.R.I., gigantes del mainstream KORN, héroes locales e internacionales PUYA, boricuas/californianos y fusionistas de metalcore ex-integrantes de Puya ANKLA, demonios del thrashcore de Santo Domingo SANTUARIO, gigantes del hardcore destructivo FULL BLOWN CHAOS, estrellas del metalcore GOD FORBID, genios del melodic death EDEN AD, al igual que un inmenso numero de bandas sobresalientes de la diversa comunidad musical de Puerto Rico.
El primer disco completo y auto titulado de TAVÚ recibió mucho reconocimiento local e internacionalmente, capturando con suma claridad la energía y la proyección de la banda, gracias a una producción cristalina por LEO ALVAREZ (MATTADOR, SLIMY NUGGETZ, COABEY, TRIBE, TAPIZ) y un largo historial de presentaciones en vivo.
TAVÚ también ha tomado parte en dos tributos internacionales, prestando sus interpretaciones de "Power of Equality" de Red Hot Chilli Peppers y de "People of the Sun" de Rage Against The Machine.
Después de un tiempo apartados de las tarimas para dedicarle al material nuevo y a solidificar el nuevo alineamiento de músicos, TAVÚ están de vuelta y preparados nuevamente para destruir las tarimas de Puerto Rico y el Mas Allá, al igual que preparando un disco nuevo. ¡Estén pendientes!
