"Tikitaka. Weird name. 2 guys. Weird music.
Ah, sounds a bit like „Notwist“ and underwriters.
Right and wrong. No, actually rather wrong.
But who doesn..t cross comparisons like these nowadays,
when mixing electronic ambience with guitars
and a shot of melancholic popvocals. Pick up new paths, make the impossible possible, enter higher levels,
turn off, turn up, freak out- that..s not their point.
Therefore they react sometimes terriblly calm to praise or criticism.
So, the songs aren..t based on a big plan or concept, instead it..s the idea. That..s what they sound like, that..s what makes them simple and open to attack, but somehow beautifully and perceptibly. The tendencies of the Songs are the crucial and you can feel- this only has to be the summit of a range envisioned by Jan Harder and Björn Schade.
From this idea probably co-operation developed. Simply. Simply make something simple. And overall don..t take the Pop in whole, too serious. In their collage songs they try to reveal everything. Tikitaka, that..s intuitively developed music, emotive, electronically and at the same time organically, always with fine feeling for the catchy Hookline. Sometimes evenly a tiny melody buzzes more than a 4/7 bar and perfection becomes unimportant in a marvelous way.
„Once they got the hang of it“ is the first release of the two mavericks and it shows that, under the cloak „Tikitaka“, they do what they feel like. And that sounds good."
