LANDsCAPE 2007 - live video and sound performance
running time: ~15 minutes Originally 18 minutes, this live performance was presented twice to the public during the eArts international electronic art festival of Shanghai in October 2007 at the SHOAC. I expressed my fantasist view of the universe, with a twist of science fiction mainly inspired by Aronosfky's The Fountain. Based around the idea that all the elements of the universe contain in itself the whole universe, like an infinite loop, the sphere would embody the shape of it all, from the atoms and the cells to the planets. Whether the creation is the result of a natural process or an artificial experiment, it gives birth to landscapes and living forms that follow the rules of this endless loop. In this perspective, the word "create" wouldn’t mean anything, since nothing is created, everything already exists.
ASIAN FACE 2007 - C27filmstudio
running time: ~52 minutes
Chinese/Korean/English w/ chinese and english subtitles Asian Face is a 52 minutes documentary directed by Tony Chen and rewrited/edited by myself. 3 asian guys (a Chinese, a Korean, and a Japanese) working in Shanghai as photographer or director explain their point of view about several subjects, family, money, love, their aims and their dreams. Indeed this movie talks about the identity of the asian people, it's mainly Tony Chen's personal quest that is expressed through all those images, the quest of a 30 years old man looking for the meaning of his life spoiled by western culture and money hunger.
