I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I've got big dreams and usually go by this:
I work and school and try to enjoy life in between. I was going to delete this myspace thing but it's a good way to keep in touch with folks.Okay, I stand corrected. You can find anybody and their momma on myspace. Cotdamn!...and don't take it personally if I don't respond online right away. I deal with a computer all day at work; the last thing I need to see is a monitor and a keyboard after hours!

My Interests

Detroit, drawing, singing, reading, dancing, learning new things, trying out new foods, travelling, driving a stickshift in traffic, comedy, ebay, trading stocks, learning about futures and options, poetry, social change, non-profit orgs, urban settings, urban decay (it's hauntingly pretty), cooking, sushi, networking, movies

I'd like to meet:

Folks who value themselves, honesty, and being real. People who are open to try new things.
Something like that. People who think out of the box, who follow their gut in spite of being scorned.
I'd Also Like to Meet:

Music:

Soca, ghetto-tech/house, raggae, hip-hop, jazz, gospel, rock, big band, bluegrass, acapella, tribal beats, drum and base, techno, salsa, meringue, classical... I don't know artist names well, but whatever my friends listen to, I'm pretty much open to. :D

Movies:

The Matrix, Land Before Time, The Boiler Room, Million Dollar Baby, Anak, Shall We Dance, Malena, Office Space, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, and the list continues...

Television:

Def Poetry, Barbershop, The Boondocks, Family Guy, Project Runway, Star Trek: Next Generation, 21 Jump Street, Cosby Show, The Simpsons, Wowowee,

Books:

The Four Agreements, The Bluest Eye, 7 Habits for Highly Effective People, A Wrinkle in Time, To Kill a Mockingbird, Rich Dad/Poor Dad, The Enemy Called Average, Tools and Tactics for the Master Day Trader...I need to read more!

Detroit Tour

Last week I showed some friends from out of town my fair city. Pretty fun. To liven up our 'tour' on the Detroit People Mover (DPM) we made a game to run out of the train at each stop- take a picture-...

Asians in Detroit.

I was born within the city limits but my family soon crossed the border following the path of flight. Under the midwest mantra, I used to be a sheep dreaming about the day I could leave and "start" my...
