About Me

Isn't it funny how out of adversity can come something truly fantastic?.........Grahame Der Ferguson and Alan Von Patterson were the poster boys of the famous league winning Eintract Frankfurt side of 2002. Heroes to the fans and an inspiration to their peers in the Bundesliga they had it all...... By the end of the following season were down to the bones of their collective arses. A combination of Patterson's addiction to cough sweeties and Ferguson's torrid relationship with new coach Ertha Kitt spelled the end for one of the best striking partnerships in continental Europe. Not even a personal intervention by Patterson's step dad and Franfurtian hero Nicky Lauda could save the lads from "der sack" and a new career in the Central European footballing wilderness. While Ferguson managed to restore some pride by finisihing as top goal scorer in 2005 with Czech 6th Division side Dukla Discoboy, Patterson's attempts to hold down a place at any of the big clubs in Romania's Professional Women's League were futile.By 2006 the lads were back in Glasgow, signing on and hoping for that one final big break that would propel them back into the limelight that they both craved. During this time both players took up an offer to "spin some tunes" at Leverndale Hospital Radio. It was mental!!!Very quickly the boys realised that they were onto something massive as their audience share swelled to 100% in the space of a few weeks. Soon, offers began to flood in from all four corners of North Glasgow NHS Trust and the lads jumped ship to Stobhill Geriatric Unit. By this time some fancy city centre discoteques began to get wind of the Das Boot phenomenon as the comeback kids began to take up residencies all over town. "Der lads" were back in business and, more importantly, back in the limelight. Don't you just love a happy ending?......
