I am addicted to films from Hong Kong (provided that they have subtitles). My English Language Tutor, when I first arrived at the University, suggested that I watch movies with English Subtitles in order to improve my English Reading skills during my spare time. I rented a DVD called Time & Tide (I just chose the first film I found that had English Subtitles and rented it). It was a wonderful movie (full of action, suspense, and a little romance). I have since watched many films by John Woo, Tsui Hark, and many other Hong Kong film makers.
I just want to see my family again. I miss my family so much. I would especially like to see all of my sisters and even my naughty little brother! Phone calls and letters are not enough! I need to be in the physical presence of my family to be fully assured that they are fine and to show and tell them how much I love them.

Mostly International (Foreign) films.
In general, the United States is a great place with wonderful people, but one of the things I do not enjoy about this culture is what is shown on Television. It is not because there is too much violence, sex, or profanity. It is because the content is too ridiculous, boring, and repetitive. I watch the news occasionally...
Jude the Obscure, Fortress of Solitude, Anything by Umberto Eco (especially Focault's Pendulum), Anything by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (especially 100 years of Solitude), Anything by JRR Tolkein (especially Silmarillion, and many others...*special note*Most of these books were the Spanish Language version. I have tried rereading some of these books in English and found that I didn't enjoy them as much as when I read them in Spanish. Maybe I am not used to reading (recreationally)in any other language than Spanish.
