About Me

Singer/SongwriterRoss Gurney has been involved in music since the age of ten; firstly as a chorister in St Davids Cathedral Choir and then later singing in bands and performing solo.Fifteen years on, Ross is now an accomplished Songwriter and performer playing in venues large and small across Britain. Recent gigs include: The Celtic Blue Rock Festival - a festival set in the dramatic backdrop of the Preseli mountains, attended by around ten thousand people; Cheesefest - a smaller festival set in North Devon; numerous pubs and clubs across South and West Wales. As a songwriter Ross’ influences are varied, drawing on styles such as rock, pop, blues and soul. Many of his songs are a reflection of past experiences; others come from an appreciation of everyday life and by watching people around him. No matter what the subject matter, Ross’ songs are written with an enthusiasm that clearly shines through. In both 2005 and 2006 Ross was awarded a semi finalist position in the UK Song Writing Contest.Currently Ross is working hard to promote his music by playing in venues all over the UK. When you go to a Ross Gurney gig you will see a set delivered with pride, passion and a determination to succeed. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
