We exist as a body of Bikers to empower children to not feel afraid of the world in which they live. We stand ready to lend support to our wounded friends by involving them with an established, united organization. We work in conjunction with local and state officials who are already in place to protect children. We desire to send a clear message to all involved with the abused child that this child is part of our organization, and that we are prepared to lend our physical and emotional support to them by affiliation, and our physical presence. We stand at the ready to shield these children from further abuse. We do not condone the use of violence, or physical force in any manner, however, if circumstances arise such that we are the only obstacle preventing a child from further abuse, we stand ready to be that obstacle.

JOHN PATRIK gets set to work on his base of operations in Alvin?s historic downtown district. Patrik, an Alvin resident, has started his own music group, Southernskyze Band, and plans to launch a label and other efforts from his hometown.
Local artist looks musical career in Alvin By Garrett Bryce, Managing Editor John Patrik is looking to bring some music to Alvin's historic downtown area.
He plans to start by carving out his space in one of Alvin's oldest buildings, upstairs above Fat Daddy's Restaurant, and creating a studio that will be home to his label, Suthern Junkin Records. "I've been looking to do something in that building all my life," he said. He plans to make extensive use of the 5,400 square feet on the second floor, including an area for public events in addition to offices. "It's a great space, you can see perfectly to the south for quite a ways," he said. Patrik said that, like the building, his family has a long history in Alvin, spanning 100 years. He plans on reflecting the history of the town by making few changes to the space, and putting historic pictures in parts of the building. "I don't see a lot of change," Patrik said. "I want to add to, not take away from it." Patrik has been singing since he was young, when he would sing at churches. At age 20, he had his first child, and decided to put any career in music on hold. "It was more important to be a daddy," he said. He worked as a milkman for Oak Farms Dairy in Houston until four years ago, when he began working on music again. He decided to base that start to his music career in Alvin. "I wanted to come back here and launch everything from my back yard," Patrik said of his plans. "You have to win your own back yard first." Patrik has already gotten a start on those plans. He is already releasing his first album with his band, Suthernskyze Band. The album, 10 Kindsa Whiskey and Strange Perfume, has been playing on satellite radio carriers such as XM Radio. He described the band's sound as unique, ranging from country to hard rock in feeling. "It's like Bad Company with some Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw thrown in," he said. He hopes to also start shooting a television show, Dreamz, which would showcase new artists. Helping new artists is another part of Patrik's plans, through offering acting coaches, dance lessons and instruction in other skills. "The artists who come out of there will be groomed for the professional stage," he said. For now, Patrik's looking to build his own fan base. His singles from 10 Kindsa Whiskey and Strange Perfume, Jesse James and the title track, are released and ready for request, he said. Suthernskyze Band has also been playing various benefit concerts, and plans to play more, according to Patrik. "I want the people to hear my music," he said. "I want to get it out there."
Pimp My Profile John Patrik was born in Houston, Texas, and raised in "passa get down dena" he's Alvin proud and even a prouder Texan. He is proof that if you can "believe it, you can achieve it". His down home persona makes you feel completely comfortable and he will have you laughing before you know it. There is never a dull moment with him around. He says that laughter is his favorite sound and that he truly believes it can cure all that ails you. He moved to South Houston as a teen and attended school. Deer Park was his backyard and he was often cruising Center Street on Saturday nights during his high school years. On school nights, he would sneak out to go ride bulls in the arena at Gilleys. This is where he fell in love with live country music having seen the gentle giant Don Williams, Charlie Daniels, Molly Hatchet, and Mickey Gilley. In 1989, he moved to the Alvin/Santa Fe, Texas area, he claims Alvin as his “home town”. As a teen, he was influenced by Doug Pinnick, the lead singer of the Houston powerhouse rock trio, KingsX. “Doug Pinnick use to jog past my high school which was an alternative choice of schooling. Public school wasn’t an option because of fighting issues. Doug Pinnick would jog by and hand us tapes of his band’s early recordings. This was at the beginning stages of KingsX. It was so exciting watching them turn out their new sound. I even had the opportunity to give my opinion of the band’s name from Sneak Preview to KingsX. This influenced me to want learn more about music; and that made KingsX my all time favorite band. They are still just as cutting edge now and ya’ll amaze me.” That early Wilde Silas bunch, Galactic Cowboys, Love N Grey, The Awful Truth, then later to follow the Sonnier Brothers, the House Of The Moist, and the Mighty Ork. The writing styles of KingsX has helped to round his writing skills around the genius of Doug Pinnick, Tye Tabor, and Jerry Gaskells. “They taught me early on never judge a book by its cover when there is so much more to read.” John Patrik has many Houston local influences like Randy Kennett, an amazing singer formally of the band Human, Adrian Circle, and Down Cry. Other influences are Buck Yeager Band, Dodd Lede Band, Carrol N Wonderland, Jay Hooks Band, and Sunset Heights. Then there is Dallas’s own Pantera with Hank III, and Austin’s own with Stevie Ray Vaughn and the Double Trouble Band. There are many Austin bands, too many to name. “People will ask me what kind of music I play. I simply tell them it is music from the heart sung from the soul. It is a compilation of styles; i.e. country, blues, rock, Motown, rockabilly, pop, rhythm and blues.” As a child, John Patrik learned that music is a tool, an instrument to influence and/or change ones heart and touch their soul. “That is what my purpose is, to somehow make a difference. If to no one else, then to myself. Music moves my soul and gives me strength to live another day." John Patrick has performed in and around the Houston area. He has finished his first music video to the title song of his first CD, “10 KINDSA WHISKEY AND STRANGE PERFUME”. The video’s production is by Tomas Ramos and Sean Michaels, and executively produced by SUTHERN JUNKIN RECORDS. It will be released to CMT and GAC. John Patrik created Suthern Junkin Records which gave him the ability to create the music the way he feels it. Though he had some difficulties with a studio holding his project up for approximately two years; He was able to make it because of his faithful listeners he likes to call his “SUTHERN JUNKERS” (“WELCOME TO MY JUNKYARD WHERE ONE MANS TRASH IS ANOTHER MANS TREASURE”.) He has recorded with formerly Bad Company’s guitarist, John Staehely, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Robert Palmer (Addicted to Love), Steve Palousek who is rising to the top of the world on steel guitar. [“Steven, the students at South Plains college in Lubbock, Texas, say your the best.”] Randy Corner, who had had number ones in the eighties, plays country; “and a hell of a hook Randy, being country, and John being rock, their going back and fourth on licks is exciting! Derrick Horne, is a musical genius. There is nothing he can’t do. He can sing like an angel and can play it all.” He does on tracks like BROKEN HEARTS AND TEAR STAINED EYES (which is a remake of the old Fleetwood Mac tune, “Leather and Lace”), SUTHERN PRIDE and I CRIED TODAY. All were produced by Derrick Horne. Allen Huff is the man behind the piano. He’s out there with Roger Creager on his tour. (“You rock me Roger, you Dah Man”). “The late great Randy Reeves, the world will miss you and that country touch. This CD is in your memory, may you rest in peace. To Ted Pennington, you are my brother and I will miss you always. This CD is dedicated to your loving memory and for encouraging and helping me to push on, without you I couldn’t have made it this far; And to the Pennington family, I miss ya’ll and may God’s peace be upon you.” ~John Patrik~

Influences: People will ask me what kind of music I play. I call it ..RHYTHM KUNTRY... I simply tell them that it is music from my heart, sang from the soul, and directed at the spirit. It is country, blues, Motown, rockabilly, pop, rhythm and blues, alternative, hard rock, suthern rock, and hell even reggae to hip hop. I do it all I love it all. Music to me is a heart felt place where writers go to express themselves, to stand on a mountain and scream to the world. To state something that means the most to them, and though I may not like what others may say (most often I don..t), but as an American there is the beauty of freedom of speech, your right to vote, and to express what you feel is right whether it is religious or political. Your the one that has to live with what you say, and the consequences that it brings to you. However, remember that children still needs roll models and I hope that my kids can learn from their Daddy..s mistakes. I..ve made a few, but we all get up brush it off and think positive in this negative world. We can add a little color to a black and white world. I paint pictures with my words, and your words speak volumes. As a child and teen, I was influenced with many styles of music, and I feel music is an international language to be shared. It..s what I love about meeting all of you here at MySpace. I..ve met so many amazing people and many have become ..Suthern Junkers.. by going to my website (WWW.JOHNPATRIK.COM) and SIGNING my GUESTBOOK. It..s one of the tools that major labels monitor the artist with, and reflects a FAN BASE, so PLEASE take a moment and go sign MY GUESTBOOK. Once again, music is a tool, an instrument to influence and or change ones heart. That is what my purpose is, to somehow make a difference and if to no one else, then to myself. Music moves my soul and gives me strength to live another day. K.I.S.S. was my first love. I fell in love with Destroyer, Plaster Caster, the Eagles and Boston. I couldn..t wait to buy Aerosmith's ..Toys in the Attic..! Oh, hell yah, there is Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Jerry Garcia, 38 Special, Lynrd Skynyrd, Black Oak Arkansas, the Dobbie Brothers, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Ian Moore, Erick Johnson, Van Halen, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, old Metallica, Sammy Hagar, KingsX (my favorite band of all times ALWAYS), Galactic Cowboys (luv yah Ben, peace bro lets give it hell... ), The Rolling Stones, The Bee Gee's, that early Wilde Sillas bunch, Galactic Cowboys, Love N Grey, The Awful Truth, then later to follow the Sonnier Brothers, House of Moist, and the Mighty Orq. The writing styles of KingsX has helped to round his writing skills around the genius of Doug Pinnick, Tye Tabor, and Jerry Gaskill. They taught me early on never judge a book by its cover when there is so much more to be read. Doug your music not only has touched my life but my little brother, Kolby, which is another awesome bassist. I love you man and I wish your band the best of luck. You have also influenced my son on guitar and bass so keep on making the type of music that provokes thought. Who knows you might even influence my grandkids. John Patrik has many Houston local influences like Daryl Dodd, Randy Kennett, an amazing singer formally of the band Human, Adrian Circle, and Down Cry. Other influences are Buck Yeager Band, Dodd Lede Band, Carrol N Wonderland, Jay Hooks Band, Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keen, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmy Vaughn, Double Trouble, Kenny Rogers, Clint Black and Kevin Black, Johnny Lee, The Posse, Randy Rogers Band, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Bleu Edmondson, Pat Green, Cory Morrow, Tracy Byrd, Tracy Lawrence, Jerry Jeff Walker, Leon Russell, Shy Blakeman, The Hunger, the band (A Portrait Of ... ) featuring Stephen Wells, Sheila Marshall, Rocky Canyon, Bubba Goth, Grey River Band with my friend Robert Poole on drums, and April Nicole, be watching for her she's great, and Sunset Heights. There are sooo many individuals and people who have influenced me. MY GREATEST INFLUENCES ARE MY CHILDREN. The most important blessings and support come from them. ..NeVaeh.. is my sons band..s name. I am so proud of him he..s an amazing guitarist! A GENIUS I think. I love you son. My Daughter is a beautiful young woman with talent and grace. She loves to dance. I love you too! They both draw incredibly well. You should see there artwork. I will display some on MySpace in a slide show. I..m only sorry that my music puts a distance between us. I only hope they can understand that the road is the hardest place sometimes. It is because you have to leave behind what you love the most and it never gets easier. My kids mean more to me then life itself. And there is nothing I wouldn..t do for them. I hope to see ya..ll at a show coming soon. Keep watching the website for the new schedule and signing my "GUESTBOOK". GODBLESS ~John Patrik~ Get Scrollbox @ MyspaceMaster.NET
