Award-winning guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer John Conkle has made a career of crossing musical boundaries. Conkle has experimented with, and excelled in, many different musical styles including rock, pop, electronic, world and new age music.Forming alt/rock band Car 44 in 1996, Conkle worked with many artists and producers including Dahna Rowe (Singer/ Songwriter), Stacey Heydon (David Bowie), and Chris Haskett (The Rollins Band), creating two albums titled "Platinum Holes and "Car 44." In 2000, Conkle won "Songwriter Of The Year" at the NineVolt Music Awards. And in 2001, the band picked up two more awards, "Record Of The Year" for their album "Platinum Holes", and "Hard Edge Band Of The Year."Since the departure of Car 44 in 2002, Conkle moved on to new territory with his project, Pedestal. While stirring lyrics and harmony-rich melodies are Pedestals hallmark, they are also recognized as dynamic live performers. An emotional intensity is present in each movement, expression, and nuance the band projects. With band members Conkle (Vocals/Guitar), Jennifer Severo (Vocals/ Keys), Chidori Matsumoto (Drums), Pedestal has earned international acclaim, as well as releasing two albums titled, "Replenishment" and "Human Race."With his latest release, "Eclipse", inspired by the rare beauty of the eclipse, Conkle continues to push the envelope of his artistry, marrying genres, styles, and technologies to create new directions in musical expression. This collection of ambient, textured melodies and sounds is the ultimate experience for reaching new levels of awareness and relaxation.
