About Me

Sup! I'm David, and this is my 15-seconds to show you what an awesome guy I am. Okay, here we go!
I'm a writer. Got one book published. Sold some short stories online in years past, too. I love writing and I'm actually getting into screenplays now. Who knows, maybe someday I'll make a living at this!
10 seconds left...
I'm also a pretty intelligent guy. At least, I think so. I enjoy those deep, last-night philosophic conversations and explorations about the meaning of life and whatnot. I'm also a truth-seeker when it comes to religion and spirituality. I wanna know what's out there, what do people believe, and why?
5 seconds.
Okay. I'm also a bit of an entrepeneur/investor. I've started my own small business a few times before. (Last venture actually showed a profit!) I'd like to be an investor too, owning stocks, real estate, hotels, casinos, parks and land... you name it.
Time's up!
And now back to your regularly scheduled program... lol.
j/k
Want to see a sample of my writing? Check out spiritualsmarts.com . That's where you can buy my book, but you can also read up on my free blog and personal life adventures there too. But I don't just do inspirational/philosophical type writings all the time. I also do fiction, usually the fantasy, science-fiction, supernatural, and/or superhero type stories. They're lots of fun! :)
I'm also the co-host of a weekly Small Business Podcast. Hear me on smallpod.blogspot.com . It's also a lot of fun. My co-host, Daniel, is a friend from high school and fellow experienced entrepreneur.
And now, some philosophies on life...
Life is short.
We each have a purpose.
Our passions, desires, interests, and natural curiosities are connected to our purpose, and even will lead us to our purpose.
In living our purpose, we feel fulfilled, we feel joyful, we feel alive.
Our purpose benefits us by making us so alive and so joyful -- but it also benefits others, a unique way we give back to the world, a unique gift that only we can give. No one else can quite fulfill your purpose like you can.
Life can be easy. We make it hard and complex.
At the same time, life is very complex and diverse, deep, rich, meaningful, and ever expansive. We never need get bored.
Love is really all there is. The absence of love breeds fear, much like the absence of light creates darkness.
We must first love ourselves, then those closest to us, then everyone else. We cannot serve others if we ourselves are empty.
Laughter is great medicine. So is hope.
I think. A lot.
Life is worth living -- if you decide to actually live life.
Life pretty much gives us what we expect, what we demand. The secret is to know what, deep down, we actually are expecting, what we're actually demanding, what we actually feel and believe we deserve.
We are both physical and spiritual beings. Ignoring one in favor of the other is never healthy or complete. We must learn balance, appreciation, understanding, and enjoyment of both.
It's not what happens to us that matters, but how we interpret what happens, the meaning we give it, and what we decide to do after.
Anything is possible if you set your mind to it. Never underestimate the power of the human spirit or the potential of the human imagination.
Life -- all life -- is precious and valuable.
Love, joy, hope, trust, faith, possibility, inspiration, imagination, enterprise, expansion, connection, and empowerment are all traits of the Soul.
Perception is everything. We don't respond to what's actually happening -- we respond to what we perceive is happening.
Everything is interconnected. Everything.
Dream no small dreams.
Genuine gratitude and appreciation is incredible power.
Remember to play, even as an adult.
Spend some quiet time alone every now and then too.
If you believe there is abundance, you are right. If you believe there is lack, you are right. You will always find what you're looking for.
You are in control of your own destiny.
You are in control of your own mental focus and emotional feelings, too. We can blame outside people, events, and circumstances -- but really, ultimately, we decide if we are happy or sad, alive or dead, free or enslaved.
Follow your bliss. Do what brings you the greatest and highest joy. Stay aligned with your core values. And through all that, give and add value to others.
Gratitude is wealth.
Thank you, blessings, peace, joy, love, happiness -- namaste, aloha!

My Interests

time travel, spirituality, finding fulfillment in life, personal development, God, road trips, beautiful mountains, the ocean, nature, writing, speaking, blogging, making a difference, being true, integrity, self-authenticity, reiki, the meaning of namaste, super heroes, healthy vegetarian/raw food diets, spiritual gifts and abilities, feel good movies, and learning new things

I'd like to meet:

“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.” -Mahatma Gandhi

What's Your Cause?

MY RESULT:
Spreading the Love

You love yourself – and hey, there’s no shame in that. Far too few people in this world give themselves enough credit for being great. If it were up to you, everyone would feel the love. So you spread around all the love you can, by helping people see what makes them so special.

Take This Quiz!

"Failure is a stepping-stone to greatness."
-Oprah Winfrey

Music:

Top 40, Pop, Techno, Dance, Remixes, Soundtracks, Instrumental, Relaxing, New Age, Ambient, and lots of other types.

Movies:

Romantic comedies, fantasy, adventure, family, some science-fiction (if it's not too dark), super heroes, comedies, anything by Pixar, and all feel-good films.

Television:

Psych, Avatar, Kim Possible, programs on Discovery and Science Channel, sometimes Simpsons or Southpark, Boy Meets World, Deal or No Deal, and random other shows.

Books:

As a fiction writer myself, for some reason I don't like reading most other fiction. I always feel the story should've gone a different direction. lol. But I do read a lot of spiritual-related books, as well as business/investing, self-help, and personal growth and development books. Inspiration ones too. :)

Heroes:

Walt Disney, Bill Gates, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Anthony Robbins, Paul Zane Pilzer, Albert Eisntein, Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Kim Possible, and Dr Emmett Brown (from Back to the Future...he said "you can accomplish anything if you put your mind to it." I believe him.)
