I am a grown woman who reads comic books. I live in Denver but I like the Mets. There's a place in City Park I like. It's a little rock garden sort of thing and there's a spot there that's made just like a recliner. It's a good place to read a book and look a squirrel in the eye.
I want to meet that guy from the Red Stripe commercials who says "HOORAY BEER".
Music to clear a room by, i.e. Big Star, Wilco, The Replacements, Mission of Burma, etcetcfuckingetc. At least this has been my experience.
Cohen Bros., Kubrick. Elves and such. And BUBBA HO-TEP. I don't care what you say, Lost in Translation is a steaming pile.
I really like that Ron Popeil informercial for THOSE KNIVES. If I knew how to cook anything I'd buy them. Because they're amazing.
Richard Brautigan. Faulkner. Steinbeck. Raymond Chandler. Flannery O'Connor. Umberto Eco. Whatever is sitting around the house, or work. In general, books are good. Also, I refuse to read anything that has a social status/ethnicity before the term literature, as in "African-American Literature", "Women's Literature", etcetcfuckingetc. I feel such terminology simultaneously creates a ghetto for those whose works can stand up against any others and a haven for those who cannot. I will take a thousand dead white guys anyday over Toni Fucking Morrison and I'm not afraid to say it.
In general I dislike heroes. Uh, Superman, I guess.
