Oh, I believe there are angels among us Sent down to us from somewhere up above; They come to you and me in our darkest hours, To show us how to live, To teach us how to give, To guide us with a light of love."

Hi, my name is Jeannette-Marie, but my friends call me Jeannie. I am a native New Yorker born and raised (Manhattanite), and am of Puerto Rican origins (New Yorrican). I have a 19 yr. old son (science buff/metalhead/reggaetoner - don't ask/classic rocker???) and a 20 yr. old foster son, who regularly keep me down on my knees. But, the Father is faithful.

If it's rock, I love it, classic rock is without a doubt, my favorite. I listen to both Christian and secular music, but my tastes range from classical music to latin music, from country to blues. One of my favorite classic rock songs of the early 70's has to be the following... for your listening pleasure I give you "Spirit In The Sky" by Norman Greenbaum:Norman Greenbaum ~ Spirit In The SkyMay the following music video bless you beyond measure! (Gracias hermana Zeta, this one is from you, for you.)

Movies:

"Man staggers through life yapped at by his reason, pulled and shoved by his appetites, whispered to by fears, beckoned by hopes. Small wonder that what he craves most is self-forgetting."

"Freedom is not the right to do what we want, but what we ought. Let us have faith that right makes might and in that faith let us; to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it."
~ Abraham Lincoln ~ 1809 ~ 1865 Sixteenth President of the USA
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
~ Benjamin Franklin ~ 1706 ~ 1790 American Scientist Publisher, Diplomat
"If a nation values anything more than freedom, it will lose its freedom; and the irony of it is that if it is comfort or money that it values more, it will lose that too." ~ Somerset Maugham ~ 1874 ~ 1965 British Novelist Playwright"Those who profess to favor freedom, yet deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightening. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will."
~ Frederick C. Douglass ~ 1817 ~ 1895 American Abolitionist Journalist
