Life is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

About Me

Right. Me. I'm pretty much just this easily amused, grinning fool of a bookworm. And I like to think I've picked up a thing or two from all my reading, and maybe a little from stuff I've actually done. On to the random crap! Occasionally, I feel the need to undertake what can only be described as the lame or inadvisable. Happily, I've always been left laughing when all is said and done, and consider this not the result of a character flaw, but a well developed sense of adventure and humor. The good news is that a good book or some time spent messing about on my computer usually sates that hunger . Also, seems I've a competitive streak. I mean, doesn't everyone who loves a challenge want to be better at it then someone else?

My Interests

reading, music, video games, wandering aimlessly, anything new or cutting edge, gizmos, puzzles, a good challenge, building anything, breaking anything big, good food, better drinks, pondering the inane, laughing at life's random ironies and oddities (events not people...usually). I adopted a cute lil' fetus in a tie from Fetusmart! He'll grow up to be a cubicle dwelling android from hell! Hooray beer!

I'd like to meet:

Anyone with at least one good story to tell. : Lukfull

Books:

My favorite books is Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon, but I honestly like all of his work, and constantly reread his stuff. Some of my other favorite authors; Neil Gaiman, Robert Jordan, Terry Pratchet, Chuck Palahniuk, Stephen King, Larry Niven, Alfred Bester, James Morrow, Orson Scott Card, Tad Williams. I also seem to have an odd aversion for anything thats considered a "classic", I'm afflicted with this weird inverse literary snobbery.

Heroes:

After some thought Id have to say that writers are my heroes. Be it writers of books, poetry, or music. I enjoy reading and music so I appreciate what they do, but more so because I envy their ability to commit their thoughts to paper for all to see/hear and analyze. A bravery I don't think I'll ever achieve.

When I read that phrase, it had this weird resonation with me, one which I don't think I'd have much luck trying to explain.  After some thought and some introspection, I was mostly just struck...
