About Me

"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it always to be kept alive." -Thomas Jefferson-
"When the Angel of death, comes a' looking for me *Hear the angels sing* I hope I was everything I was supposed to be *When the angels sing* There's gotta be a heaven, cause I've already done my time in hell and a little baby's born, when it all comes down *Hear the angels sing*"--Mike Ness--

"Rock n' Roll will be gone by June...."---(Variety Magazine, early 1955) www.savedarfur.org/home I think tomatoes are disgusting but I love ketchup (or is it catsup??) If I drop a penny in my car and it falls under the seat, that is all I think about and it drives me nuts. I dislike people who say "hit me up sometime"...go away. I love it when a woman comes out of the shower with a towel wrapped around her hair. I do not like bland, flavorless food or people. I dig cowboy hats and bandanas but I am neither a cowboy or a gang member. Nine-hundred television channels are wayyyy too many. Chia Pets still amaze me. I just found out that "Sea Monkeys" are not really monkeys....just some sort of shrimp....it's a rip-off. Duran Duran rocks but Journey can kiss my ass. I find intelligence sexy. I can be the life of the party OR I can be a silent loner..depends on which sunglasses I wear. I am spiritual but I have a long ways to go. I've got ono sideboard, I'm one spinal cracker..I've got feet down below my knee..hold you in my armchair you can feel my disease. When I sing people think an excorcism is being done in the next room.... but I can't live without music...I would seriously die without it in my life...at least my soul would. Music was my first love and I have had affairs with many. People drift in and fade out of my life but music will ALWAYS be there for me. Rock n' Roll is my thing.... old Rockabilly stuff..glam-punk, cow-punk, sleaze rock, 70's glam & punk, surf... I dig raggae (Lee Perry, B.Marley) some old school country (Cash, Waylon,Hank Jr.)....even some classical to relax...and I dig monkeys....and green m&m's...
"Kiss by the Hotel de Ville", 1950 by Robert Doisneau "Park Avenue, NYC", 1964 by Mario De Biasi "Times Square; May 8th, 1945" by Alfred Eisenstaedt "There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line."---Oscar Levant "The lunatic, the lover, and the poet, are of imagination all compact."---William Shakespeare

"It is wrong to think that Love comes from long companionship or persevering courtship. Love is the offspring of a spiritual affinity, and unless that affinity is created IN A MOMENT, it will not be created in years or even generations."
--Kahlil Gibran, from "The Broken Wings"

My Interests

"Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay."Poem lyrics of "Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost "There is much pleasure to be gained from useless knowledge"--Bertrand Russell "I Mua Kakou I No Ka 'oe" Rockin' out to music and spending time with my beautiful wife, without whom I'd be lost, as I was before I met her. Old Rockabilly, 50's doop-wop, 60's girl groups and garage bands, 70's punk, 80's glam, history channel, "Behind the Music", sushi, comics, tatoos, NFL, Red Sox, the beach, mozzarela sticks (yum), jogging, honey Roasted Peanuts, harmonicas, vinyl records, leather, talking to people who were in World war one, two and the Civil war. skiing, eating Cinnamon Life cereal, Jamaicans, writing poetry, cherry cigars, scented candles and PBS..
"You can run all your life, but not go anywhere"-Mike Ness

I'd like to meet:

People that have music branded onto their very soul..you know who you are. You feel it.... taste it. I feel sorry for people who don't. It doesn't matter what kind of music as long as you are passionate about it....quirky sense of humor goes a long way with me also...spontaneous people are fun. People who love cartoons and documetaries. Documentaries about cartoons. Russ Meyer, true punk-rockers (NOT Blink 182 punk-rockers).... Twins are awesome. People who enjoy calling out from work sick and don't feel one bit guilty. People with OCD, John Waters...Ramones and Clash fans...Christopher Walken. Axl Rose...registered independants...Jeep Wrangler lovers, somebody who can wail on the saxophone like Michael Monroe or Clarence Clemons, Elvis fans...Napoleon Dynamite fans...comic book geeks, Red Sox fans...people with tattoos...people from Viginia beach (I want to live there again)...cool people that know what life is all about...... please tell me! "The man is a success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who leaves the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul; who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty or failed to express it; who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had." -- Robert Louis Balfour Stevenson (1850-94), British writer, essayist, poet, novelist *The King sez*.... "Leave your comments in the blue box below!! Thank you....thank you very much..

I am invulnerable. I see no foe. I am related to the earliest times, and to the latest."--- Henry David Thoreau

"Impossible" is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. It's not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing." --Muhammad Ali--

Movies:

"True Romance" is my favorite....any Tarantino movie (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction), any Coen Brothers film (Raising Arizona, Fargo, The Big Lebowski), old black and white 1950's flicks (Rock Pretty Baby, Live Fast Die Young, The Restless Years, Running Wild), The Outsiders... ... All the New York fireman who gave their lives on 9/11/01 to save & protect others. They are true "Heroes" in every sense of the word. "Envy someone and it pulls you down.
