Described briefly in the early eighteenth century, the term 'namelings' referred to two people bearing the same name. The PhotoCafe expands on the definition by providing photographers with a gathering area which caters to most photographic needs. The space intentds to facilitate interaction between Toronto's image makers. The main gallery focuses on promoting new artists by exposing the work to fellow artists and others in the downtown core. The site features a small cafe run by excellent staff providing specialty coffees and treats to patrons and passerby's. Namelings services include medium and large format developing, all format scanning, photographic printing (available on canvas), and custom framing. The on-site studio is available for rent and houses a full-time photographer specializing in portraiture and portfolio development. The aim of Namelings lies in providing a personal one-on-one approach to the photographic industry.
