About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor - Image Hosting

Eliott has been performing since childhood. Whether it be entertaining family by imitating the Commodores or pretending to play bass with a tennis racket. "I always knew I wanted to perform in some capacity. I always looked at my life as one long movie. Me and my childhood friends would pretend like we were actors in movies. It was like playing tag on a whole other level. We would all play different characters and speak lines. It was a ton of fun. When I got to high school and started playing music with my peers I knew music was my calling." Inspired by his uncles ,themselves musicians,he started out playing guitar and switched to bass. From there He formed a trio with long time friend and original keyboardist,Douglas Edwards, in his uncles' groups, The Pearls, and Ghetto Union. "Doug taught me music theory. He laid it all out for me in about one hour and I took it and ran with it. I was walking through the local college music building and came across some guys jamming. The drummer was really nice and we must have jammed for close to two hours. That was Ryan Lindsey and he was the third link in mine and Dougs trio.We called the group 4 AM after a Harvey Mason tune.I think Ryan Came up with the name." From there Eliott performed with 4 AM through the mid nineties. Eventually he met his percussionist Alex Silva who joined the group. After playing in numerous bands and doing some session work. He decided to focus on a solo career . Today he continues to perform his own music as a solo artist along with percussionist Alex Silva. And has released three solo cds:Shapes,Low Frequency and Tiny Grooves Live."My music is really a mix of just about everything I like. Im hard to pin down as far as a style. Often times Im thrown into the jam band or acid jazz category. But I just try to make music for music sake and to make people feel good."
