Lerryns Hernández was born in Caracas, capital city of Venezuela. At the age of 13 he lives his first musical experience after sharing high school studies with Jesús Enrique Hidalgo, who gives him the opportunity of meeting his father, the great composer Enrique Hidalgo. Years later, he receives from his own father a gift that would change his life: a drum set. It is then when his journey through percussion begins. During two years he receives lessons from notorious professor Luis Tomas García. Later, he will become a self-taught drummer.Upon the year 1997, with Jesús Enrique Hidalgo, Jannio Hidalgo y Jaime Hidalgo, Lerryns creates Urbanda, publishing his first musical record. With this band he participates in television shows, video clips and national tours. Then he separates from the group and begins to work with cover bands in the colorful Caracas nightlife, a perfect environment for improving his technique in diverse musical styles like pop, rock and latin. During this period he joins Irie, a reggae cover band directed by Pablo Gónzalez, Mulato. With Pablo he delivers “Mulato”, his first and most successful album, awarded in Venezuela with Gold and Platinum records, reaching slot number one in the country’s musical billboard.Alongside these activities, Lerryns joins AgoTeatro, a theater group directed by professor Virginia Aponte. There he performs as musical producer and interpreter in many professional theater presentations. With AgoTeatro he participates in more than 10 plays throughout no less than 10 years. Among activities with the theater group is the USA and Canada tour celebrated during 2004.In 2001, through his partnership with Victor and Pablo Musical Productions, Lerryns creates Lunacreciente Studios. From then on he commands the sound edition and post-production room. Also, he records uncountable productions and jingles as session drummer and percussionist. In Lunacreciente Studios he plays drums for renowned artists like El Goyo Reyna, Mulato, Roque Valero, Los Hidalgo, Hany Kauam, and many more.In 2007 he becomes lead drummer for the “Jesus Christ Superstar” rock opera, which played two full seasons ( 25 shows) in Caracas and Maracaibo city. That same year he participates in the Movistar Tour, visiting eight Venezuelan cities as a drummer for Jhonny Sigal..s musical debut. As percussionist, he has also participated in numerous tv commercials and musical productions, playing the cajon, the bongo, timbales and darbouka, among others.Currently he is developing The Bongo Project, a Youtube experience where he plays the bongo, traveling with this instrument to uncharted musical landscapes and achieving, at the same time, broad reception among internet users.
