Minyan is a Los Angeles based alternative rock band that was formed in 2008. The
rock quartet has been influenced by such artists as The Police, The Cure, Radiohead, Pink Floyd and many more. They have spent the last year working on new material and debut it in February 2009 at The Roxy. SInce then they have a residency at The Green Door,performed at venues such as The Dragonfly, The Unkown Theater and The Viper room. The bands founding members (Simon Stokes, James J. Todd, Trevor Jayne,and Arnaud Azoulay) met their senior year at Beverly Hills Highschool. After going through a pool of bass players, and guitar players Minyan has found their sound which is all of their own. The new Minyan consists of Simon Stokes, Trevor Jayne, Jordan Shokrian and Joe De Sa. With such an eclectic sound, Minyan has been able to mix generations of music and head towards the future. With hart pounding riffs and vocals of guiitarist/singer Simon Stokes, whaling sounds and originality of lead guitarist Joe De Sa, and thumping beats and rhythyms of Trevor Jayne make this quartet kick ass live. Minyan has been able to capture an esscence that most bands are lacking, which is feel.
