Manchild

Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 9, 1979 Manchild has been recording music since 1993. At age thirteen he wrote is first verse as a freshman in highschool. It was a verse written over a Snoop Dogg track that sparked a future in hip-hop. Throughout highschool Myron was considered ahead of his time thus adopting the name Manchild. The more and more Manchild wrote music the better he progressed lyrically. On several occassions he was called out lyrically and he more than stood up to the challenge in each case. From literally rhyming over table made drums and beat boxing he began to use a technic called freestyling. Freestyling became his leverage over other rappers. There were not too many rapper that could make up lyrics as they go. Having that ability in a heated battle was the reason he walked away victorious. Upon graduation Manchild had to make a decision wheher to pursue music full time or attend college. With the industry being so unpredictable he chose to attend college. Once in college his creative juices continued to flow. In a very short time he began to create a name for himself across campus. The first showcase performed on campus did not go as anticipated but that was to be short lived. In his college tour Manchild gained a lot of experience as an artist. In 1997 Manchild had one of the biggest test he could ever face. With the conections of his management he performed at Howards Homecoming Yardfest in DC. The show went over well with a lot of support from the student body. Manchild's catalog run's pretty deep to have been an unsigned artist. Included in the list of performances Manchild has performed at clubs Gotham, Vegas, Chrome, Dances, Khahunaville and Spy Club. Among artist that Manchild has open shows for: Redman, Usher, Christion, Buju Banton, Ram Squad, Task Force, 100 X, The Whispers, and others. During college he was a part of many compilation and and mix tape cd's and even a head line perfomance at West Chester University in 1999. Among perfomances he claimed victorious in several battle competitions at West Chester University and even a battle competition between Lincoln University, Cheyney University, West Chester University and other local colleges. Upon graduating from college music became secondary for Manchild. The music industry became over saturated especially in the Philadelphia area discouraging him from producing music. Beginning a careeer outside of music slowly took Manchild away from his passion. With the industry still lacking a heavy hitter in the game Manchild has decided to make a second run at his music. Whether it be collaborating with other artist or freestyling over cover tracks you will hear new material from Manchild in the future.
