Anyone who's interested in seeing my artwork. I wish I could have met Johnny Cash while he was alive. May his memory be for a blessing. This is my favorite photograph of the Man in Black.
Rockabilly, Israeli, Jewish Liturgical music, American Folk (especially anything that has a socio-political slant to it.) I also love some country. If you haven't heard anything by Hank Williams III, you are truly missing out on something great. Know what else is great? Surf music.
Anything gory, Doomsday scenarios are my favorite. Zombie outbreaks on a global scale. Don't get me started on zombies. I'm not limited to a gore fest, though.
Miami ink, King of the Hill, South Park, That 70's Show reruns...
The Torah, anything Jewish, The Communist Manifiesto written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, Thomas Moore's Utopia, World War Z by Max Brooks, The Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger, stuff by Bernard Malamud and Isaac Bashevis Singer...Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury was troubling and good. Leonard Cohen wrote a book called Beautiful Losers that was also troubling and terrifying and beautiful for all of it's nightmarish imagery. There are so many good books and great writers, I could never list them all.
The entire nation of Israel, Baruch Goldstein, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, The Ghastly Ones, Buzz Campbell, The Reverend Horton Heat, Lee Rocker, Slim Jim Phantom, Brian Setzer, Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, Sailor Jerry Collins, Chris Garver, Kat Von D., Dick Dale, Elvis Presley, Moses, Pete Seeger, Friedrich Nietzche, Maimonides, Baruch Spinoza, Leo Trotsky, Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, Dr. Theodor Herzl, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn (whom my son Yakov Menachem is named after with his middle name,) Menachem Begin is another hero of mine with the same name, Moshe Dayan, the Baal Shem Tov, Isaac Luria, Rabbi Shneur Zalman...wierd that I should mention Johnny Cash and the founder of the Chabad Lubavitch Hasidic movement in the same list. So many heroes.
