FEATURING DJ ZULU AND FRIENDS

At age 14, while still in junior high at Kadena US Air Force Base, Okinawa, Japan, I began my affair with music and spinning. What followed is a career performing all over the globe for a variety of clubs and special events. I've been spinning records off and on since 1980. In 1982, I formed Darrenteed Productions. By 1983, performing as DJ Doc Nice, I had regular gigs on Yokota Air Base, Japan and in the Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Roppongi districts of Tokyo along with Power DJ Alvin D of Violator and The Video Mix King DJ Roonie G of MTV2 and Video Assasins. Between 1983 and 1992, I spun in clubs world wide ranging from Japan and Korea to Germany to various locations throughout the states.
In 1996 I turned my attention to event promotions and in 1998 after a six year hiatus, I picked the ones and twos back up and have been at it since then. I am also known as a dance music historian and true dancehead. My music knowledge is full about Hip Hop, R&B, Disco and House and I'm a trivia nerd.
My biggest promotion is a fat people nightclub promotion called "Big Boogie Nights/BBN (see more about BBN below). I also rock a lot of House Music promotions across the USA and beyond and I rock video mixes at certain venues and promotions!
I'm also the host of Big Boogie Radio on BBW Adult Radio Network as well as Mix DJs coordinator for the station. If you are a mix DJ especially inside the BBW Community and want your mix to be heard on BBW Adult Radio contact me and send a demo! Also please listen to my Hip Hop, Mash Up and House mixes throughout the weekend on BBW Adult Radio immediately before the Drew and Mare Show on Friday Nights and immediately after the 2 Big Broad's Show on Saturday Night as well as monthly on the TNT Show on Monday Nights!
DJ Zulu and Big Boogie Nights is back at Picasso's Lounge on June 7!!
THIS PARTY IS GOING TO BE BANANAS! DJ ZULU ROCKS BIG BOOGIE NIGHTS THE BBW CANDY SHOP @ HANGAR ULTRA LOUNGE JUNE 21, 2008! YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS IT!
DJ Zulu loves to rock parties with friends and crew. Come party with Big Boogie Nights and other promotions and Big Folks out there who want to bring BBN to your city, please e-mail me. Other nightclubs that want the best in Darrenteed Production promotions including the NetMeet Throwdowns featuring some of the hottest DJs, also feel free to contact me, We're UNIVERSAL baby!
DO NOT EMAIL ME HERE ON MYSPACE for anything besides leaving comments. If you know me you know my e-mail contact me there.
I AM NOT A MYSPACE FRIEND COLLECTOR!!!!!! If we don't know each other, network together, hang out, do gigs together then I won't add you, I look for real quality people. I realize that I market here on MySpace like everyone else but I market ONLY to those that I know come through and to things I'm personally interested in attending or places to visit. If I deny your friendship please do not take it personal.
To all you artists out there sending me comments, blasts etc: I'm not adding advertising comments if I don't PERSONALLY know you and you are NOT a legend OR if I haven't heard your stuff (and trying to get me to hear your stuff on MySpace won't get me to listen to your stuff). Send your beats to my manager or to my personal e-mail. If you don't know my personal e-mail, I don't know you, maaaaaaan! I'll just delete your stuff. If you are really getting down it'll get to me through the record pools or the peeps in the industry. Too many of you are sending out butt music and I'm not down with that, so stop trying get your tags on my ish, please! I'm too old and fat for that crap, stick with the kiddies and thank you.
DJ Zulu encourages all DJs from the DANCE MUSIC nation (Hip Hop, R&B. House/Techno, Electro/Jungle/Break Beat, Dancehall/Reggae/Soca/Reggaeton, Latin to ATTEND this event (your attendance dicates SUPPORT!)
