"With stones and illegible inscriptions found about great ruins. Pictures of three remarkable steeples, or towers Built purposely awry, so as they seem eternally tipping and falling"
Jhonn Balance, you're the Elohim of Poets, Rest in Peace and mind your step.
Bjørn’s the name, but some know me as Narrenschiff of Illnah and Philomel’s Epitaph, #44 in 54, Lekebåt in the band Fluesopp, or “that guy” for the rest of you. So, as you know by now, I sing. Or: I scream (and drink), mostly(drink), and I enjoy it(drinking). I singing properly too, I have to admit, but only when I’m drunk, showering (or both) or when I’m out on late night walks, which is quite often. When I don’t sing I make pretty pictures. Sometimes small ones, sometimes large ones and some times people even give me money to do it. Money is good. So I make pictures.
When I don’t make noises or pictures I sometimes read, collect English horror short stories, watch movies, go for runs, do origami, calligraphy, bigamy, irony and sarcasm, play pool or roleplaying games, feed cats, wash socks, eat noodles or stare at my neighbours’ house at obscure hours in the morning while singing devil doll songs, often with a raw potato jammed into my ear and wearing nothing but a blue t-shirt with the inscription “Vinglesnurr”. Sometimes I write alliteration as often as anyone accepts another annoying, arbitrary allegory apparently anchored in allsorts of accidental archaeological, atypical or anomalous amusements. And sometimes I don’t.
Most of you can forget you read the last paragraph.
I love Jan Svankmajer, Oscar Wilde, Lucio Fullci and Daro Argento as well as Jorge Luis Borgess, Eddie Izzard, Tim Burton, Moonspell, Sopor Aeternus, Tom McRae, Carnivále and Rome, Sinatra, Marillion, Family guy, Invader Zim, Italian food, buckets, and kittens. My biggest hero is Andrew Wiles. Go get’em, Tiger! (-If Dante lived these days, you’d be hanging out with Plato in the 6th circle!) Oh, and I used to collect butterflies.
Big Dave McKean-fan. He’s an amazing illustrator and a gullible little bloke with a sexy brain, thin hair and a wicked sense of humour. God bless the chords of your toes, my man. Still doesn’t beat Wiles, though… Dave has a life, you see, and we can’t have that in a hero now, can we? Sorry, Dave!
Sometimes when I’m really drunk I say stupid things.
"I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?" Death thought about it. "Cats," he said eventually. "Cats are nice."
