In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act. -George Orwell

About Me

Things you should know about me- I think too much, I like to know people, & I love my cats. I'm cynical but optimistic. I knit socks so I guess that makes me "craftsy" too. I'm a collage artist and I've had work for sale at RSVP, Iowa Artisan's Gallery and currently a new series is for sale at White Rabbit. I'm in a band called Family Van- we call it post-noise pop. I'm not a guitarist, I just play one on stage. I like to dress up because it makes me happy and it seems to entertain people. I have a backpiece that you may have seen in Stingray's portfolio- it's award winning, yes we are very proud. I've worked half my life in TV and I'm due for a career change. I'm back in school for my secondary ed degree. I'm facinated by past agricultural policy, farmer revolts & Henry Wallace. When the mood strikes me I write short fiction about relationships between regular folks. Things I like: Iowa summer nights when the lightening bugs are so thick that you can't tell the difference between the starry sky and the fields, trees in the winter, the desert, the ocean, my blue truck Tilly, tattoos, rag-pickin', cayanne pepper w/ chocolate, music & experimental sound, makin' noise, shooting handguns, dancing like a maniac, old cemetaries, getting out in the woods, comfortable shoes w/arch support- god, this could go on forever so I'll move on to things I don't like. Flip flops, Hummers, khaki pants, corporate media, Coral Ridge Mall b/c I never find anything I want, I get overstimulated by sound & color and I leave feeling like someone scraped out my innards with a melon baller.
