The pride of lions has awoken

About Me

I was born 2/15/74 in Orillia, Canada, and raised in Collingwood. I had a lot to learn.I picked up a guitar for the first time at the age of eleven. I wrote my first song a year later and began my performing career in earnest. I sang with choirs, and I performed with an acapella quartet called No Nonsense. We rented tuxedos and performed corporate shows for big companies. The money was good.During all that I continued to write songs and began to sneak into bars to see what all the fuss was about. Collingwood held an incestuous little enclave of musicians that knew each other, all played together in various incarnations, and secretly resented each other. I wanted in.After a few years of playing with all the bar bands, playing all the bar songs (with the occasional original thrown in to confuse everybody), it was time to leave the nest and strike out on my own. I moved to Kitchener. Poverty ensued.Poverty, solitude, and poetry. In the intervening years, poverty has given way to comfort, and solitude has been replaced with matrimony. Only poetry endures.I have played with many great musicians. I have written many songs (some of which you can find on my cd). I have great passion for humanity. We all still have a lot to learn.

I really don't mean to be a jerk

Perhaps my concept of 'friend' is outmoded in this modern age. I had someone give me an add request today. Totally random person whom I have never met and know nothing about. I thought it best to...

Later To Live

Greetings, So I've uploaded this song that I recorded a couple of years ago for my CD. I decided to leave it off at the time because it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. Having listened to it ag...

So I have this website

My friend Arvana put together a beautiful little website (it's right here). On it has song lyrics, a few more songs to listen to, and, crucially, a way that you can buy my cd. If any of this inte...

Too young to hold on, and too old to just break free and run

A closed hand can hold nothing

Been thinking about this whole concept of forgiveness, as Jason has implored me to forgive someone from my past. It does nothing to this person that I still feel so negatively towards him. ...

1997 Aqua Neon

Picked up a new car last night. While I am pleased to be driving a vehicle that I know I can rely on, I feel that I must eulogize the car that I couldn't: Oh '97 Neon, you will be missed. Your cassett...

Sweet merciful crap

So my good friend Jason (not me, someone else. it's a very popular name you know...) just wised me to something very very very very (what's the word? oh yeah) WRONG. So, for a period of, oh, let's say...
