About Me
The Upbeat --one of the longest jammin ska bands in the world---no break ups --no reunions-- just continous jammin for over 22 years (5 of the 7 in the band being original members) The upbeat formed in the small coastal town of Carpinteria, California. Throughout their 22+ years, they have shared the stage with such lengendry ska and reggae bands as: The Specials, English Beat, Burning Spear,Gregory Isaacs, Bad Manners,Tommy McCook (Skatalites), Roland Alphonso(Skatalites), Culture, Bad Manners,Steel Pulse, No Doubt, The Wailers, Jimmy Cliff, Hepcat, Twinkle Brothers, The Toasters,The Itals, Laurel Aitkins, Sublime, Israel Vibration, Desmond Dekker, The Meditations, The Selecter and many others.
