My Interests

I like to spend time with my friends playing pool, going to movies. I have recently begun hiking regularly. My new addiction is the gym. I enjoy being creative I crochet, paint, and make jewelry. I am always looking to try something new..just so I can say I did it at least once. I also love to discuss politics and history. I majored in sociology and psychology.

Music:

I like all kinds of music as long as it is original and creative. I grew up listening to a lot of punk and ska..I also like alternative rock and blues. I was a classical musician for years so I also love classical and jazz. My favorite band of all time is the Pixies!!! I also like Concrete Blonde, Fishbone,Rage Against the Machine, Te Talking Heads, Slipknot, Static X, System of a Down, Elliot Smith, The Ramones, Iggy Pop, David Bowie, David Byrne,Faith No More, classic rock, Queens of the Stone Age, Ruby, Garbage, Nirvana, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Beethoven. The list could go on forever.

Movies:

I have to admit a love for cheesy sci fi movies. The ones with the really bad special effects. I enjoy all types of movies some of my favorites are 12 monkeys, fight club(the book was better), Dead man, American Beauty,The Big Lebowski, and so many more I can not think of them at the moment.

Television:

I love Rescue Me I think that show is awesome other thatn that only show I watch regulary is CSI and Miami Ink. Other than that I am usually watching cheesy movies on the sci fi chanel. Or I am watching the history chanel, Discovery chanel.

Books:

The BFG or Big Friendly Giant...great kids book that I am reading to my students. The most recent books I have read are Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palanuck. The Tesseract by Alex Garland. I have been trying to get through Catch 22 by Joseph Heller but I keep losing it.

Heroes:

My Grandfather...and Ms. Blanks. Two amazing people that even in their old age had the energy class and dignity to still devote their time to helping others. My parents
