The Tearjerkers

Its Judgement Day.......

About Me

Myspace Contact Tables , hosting by Imgdump.netI edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4The Tearjerkers were a band formed by Specials guitarist Roddy" Radiation" Byers in 1981,during the six month break that The Specials had taken from recording and touring.the sideline project was something close to the heart of Byers, who instantaneously started putting together songs that featured the rock n roll, rockabilly and ska crossover style/genre created individually by Byers and that had first reared its head on the track "Braggin' And Tryin' Not To Lie",credited to Roddy Radiation & The Specials and released as a free 7" single with the second Specials album "More Specials".However, with the coming of The Specials' "Ghost Town" and the famous split straight after,Roddy threw himself wholeheartedly into The Tearjerkers. The band knotched up an impressive number of gigs, playing student gigs and small clubs and amongst others toured with Stiff Little Fingers, The Meteors, Dave Edmunds, Elvis Costello, King Kurt, Bo Diddley, The Modettes, and The Bureau(who had earlier been a large chunk of Dexys Midnight Runners) .The Tearjerkers, with their very distinctive sound and set up,were signed up by Chiswick Records in 1982,where they released their 7" vinyl outing "Desire" backed by the track "Western Song".A well respected outfit,The Tearjerkers played all over the country and despite a later change of line up,split in 1986/7.This myspace page is to give their own unique approach to music an airing to those who want to hear it.
