About Me

Hey, what's up?!
Welcome to JRog's infamous myspace page! I'm your host, JRog, but you can call me Jimmy. We have a wonderful selection of links for you to choose from. If you'd like to see hilarious pictures of a handsome 23yr old gentleman, please click the 'Pics' link. For personal information, such as preferences in music, movies, television, and literature, check out the column to the left. Speaking of music, enjoy the song currently playing, as it's subject to change at any time. If you'd like to see my employment history and a timeline of my locations, refer to the jobs listed below and to the left. For additional info, under this I have 'get to know me' paragraphs as well as the results from online personality tests. I also offer a variety of blogs, with ramblings about all of life's various topics... everything from overwhelming obstacles to inspiring ambitions. From failed relationships to current companionship. From day-to-day work to weekend parties. From bad beats in poker to exciting bluffs. From opinionated rants to political ideology. Anything you want, JRog has it! Please, help yourself to the links on my page, and be sure to use the 'send message' link if you'd like to get up with me. Enjoy!
Now, for the 'get to know JRog' paragraphs...
As mentioned, I'm 23. In high school I was a jock and focused on wrestling and baseball instead of schoolwork. Upon graduating, I joined the Air Force Reserve with the intention of going to college. After Basic Training and Tech school, I was placed on Active Duty in Dover, Delaware for two years (interrupting school). Once my activation was complete, I spent a summer in Dewey Beach, Delaware, then two semesters at Delaware State University (back in Dover). Last summer I moved back home for awhile (Hampton, Virginia), then moved to Altanta for a month, then spent a few months in New Orleans. I've been back in Hampton since November, and although it has its perks, Delaware is calling my name. I currently work as an RV Salesman and with a little luck I'll be back at Delaware State eventually (wrestling and participating in ROTC once again).
As for the other stuff...
I'm easy going, and I think it's important to be that way. If you wanna chill, all you gotta do is get at me. If you invite me to a game of Texas Hold'em I'll take all your chips (but it'll be fun). I try to be good-natured and love to have a great time. I'm a gentleman, but because I'm witty and sarcastic I have a habit of getting myself in trouble, haha. Despite popular opinion, I'm really not a manwhore. I consider myself a pretty damn good guy (maybe a bit cocky), but you can't fault me for being honest. That's all you're ever gonna get outta me: Honesty and rationality. If you can't handle that, sorry!
My final thought...
Learning to overcome adversity is the key to being successful. It's sometimes difficult to find the silver lining in every cloud, but trust me, it's there. I couldn't be more excited about where I've come from, all that I've overcome, and the direction I'm currently headed in life.
:-D

Seriously though...

R.A. Salvatore is my favorite author (he writes fantasy stuff... like Lord of the Rings, but much better). If I'm not reading one of his books I'll be consumed by something concerning poker. At this time, I still refer to Dan Harrington's books on tournament play as my poker Bible(s). Phil Gordon has also written some amazing stuff.

Oh, and I can't forget to mention 'I hope they serve beer in hell' by Tucker Max. That book has changed my life... but I'm not sure it's for the better, haha!

The latest and greatest literary accomplishment? I read all the Harry Potter books and loved them!

Heroes:

There really aren't enough heroes out there nowadays...
