Announcements:
Sept-14-2007:
We are pleased to announce that Adriel Azure and his Dream Indigo Orchestra will be playing at the 21st Annual SnowBall!
Adriel Azure and his Dream Indigo Orchestra are an all acoustic period group that performs both vocal and instrumental music. Their styles span the time period of the 1900 to the late 1940s. This is jazz as well as other related nostalgia styles (hot and gypsy jazz tango, delta and jump blues, swing, bigband, latin, dixieland, klezmer, Hawaiian, Italian, French, cabaret, etc.) Imagine the atmosphere of a speakeasy, the roaring 20s or a vaudeville theater. Their instrumentation is varied and their goal is the authenticity of putting on a show. Equally at home in a burlesque, vaudeville or wholesome family event. Musical and show content are tooled towards a venue and an audience's makeup. Members of the group have been involved in many different projects, tours, films, etc. All are professionally educated and experienced. They came together in a shared love for the nostalgia, comedy and style of the musical era they draw from. They are also bringing the nostalgia genre in to the present by composing new songs with the old styles as a guide.
Sept-11-2007:
We are pleased to announce that Soul City will be playing at the 21st Annual SnowBall!
Soul City has brought the joy and intensity of the R&B nightclub experience to packed dance floors all over New England and beyond for over twenty years. Using breathtaking four-part vocals and the power and precision of a four-piece rhythm section topped off by the renowned Soul City Horns, they bridge the gap between band and audience to deliver a performance that will be talked about for years to come.

HISTORY AND MISSION
In December of 1987 a ballroom in downtown Boston stood vacant due to a cancelled corporate party. A group of fifteen friends decided to make use of the space by holding a benefit to raise funds to aid inner-city children. With 270 people in attendance, the event raised $3, 968 and became the first annual SnowBall. The success of the event sparked the group to establish a formal non-profit organization. And in 1988, Santa Claus Anonymous (SCA) was founded.SCA’s mission is to have a positive impact on the development of youth in the greater Boston area by supporting programs for educational, social and character development. The majority of the programs that SCA supports are non-federally funded and do not receive United Way funding. In many cases, the funding SCA provides enables these organizations to provide programs that otherwise would not be possible.Through the years the SnowBall has raised over a million dollars ($100,000 in 1997 alone) and in 1998 and 2001, over 2,000 people attended.
SCA AND ITS BENEFICIARIES SCA supports its beneficiaries by operating as a non-profit, 501(c) (3) fundraising organization. Each December we host the SnowBall, Boston's largest all-volunteer run black-tie benefit. Also, through the Beneficiaries Committee, SCA volunteers have the opportunity to participate in activities with beneficiary programs and the youth they support. In the past, this group has held a Sports Day, visited the Museum of Science and The Children's Museum, and gone skiing in Vermont and New Hampshire. Visit our Beneficiaries Page for past and present beneficiaries.
