Representing the Essence of Kansas City

About Me

Whats up this is Blaq, member of Heet Mob, the hottest hip-hop masterminds of the midwest. Let me tell you a little about myself and what I hope to bring to this industry. First off i dont think I really sound like anybody else thats out, which makes it original. I been singing all my life, yes even in the belly attached to belly button tube (I'm Stupid..lol). My whole family sings so it was kinda instilled in me at a young age. Like almost erry (every, for those that dont speak ebonics) singer I started in church. In 1996 when i attended Morris Brown College I got my first real big audience to perform in front of, at the Miss Morris Brown Pagent in Atlanta, GA. I performed at a few talent shows around then also. Even had the chance to sing back ground for DOUGLASS, the hottest vocalist in the city [also my big brother]. I joined Heet Mob Records after my sophamore year in college and been doing my thing erry since. I started out a little shy and timid about singing on an entertainment level, but my confidence has risen so much since then. Without confidence you dont stand a chance in ANYTHING you strive to achieve. Next on the agenda is to make thing happen with my FAM (Heet Mob) so look out for our EP release nationwide Oct. 30th 2006 its guarnteed to show you the true essence of hip-hop, especially in the midwest

Influences: My thing as far as influences are concerned, especially growing up, is that there can be no bigger influence than the people thats most close to you...My biggest influence, when it comes to music, is my older Bro, DOUGLASS. I always said that if he would have gotten out of KC to pursue is singing career, then he'd be signed already. Just listening to him growing up, killin it at church, talent shows, or his own shows, I had no choice but to sound similar to him. Sure i grew up listening to other artist, but to see someone that close to you have the notoriaty he had in the city, made me want to be like him. Not to say that i'm not my own self, but his drive, dedication, and persistance made me hungry also. Secondary influences i would have to say was Jodeci, Donnie Hathaway, Sam Cooke, David Hollister, Brian McKnight, Teddy "P", and surely can't forget about Bob Marley and what he stood for.

What Wont They Do?

What wont they do yall? Well we know they didn't do anything about the blatant racsim shown in Louisiana. We know they are ready to strip a man (black) of his livelihood, over an animal. Which th...
