Bouncing between his father’s house in Flushing Queens and his mother’s in Flatbush Brooklyn, Jay Nigma was influenced by the musical likes of rap’s earliest hero’s Eric B. and Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and KRS- One to name a few. His teenager years were of the fate of many inner city youths, becoming engulfed in the cruelty of the street’s drug trade. These destructive behaviors eventually concluded with a stint in a state penitentiary for a number of years. These turbulent years sharpened Jay’s focus on his dreams and talents into becoming the artist his is today. The mastermind behind an undeniably original sound and flow, Jay Nigma has nurtured his skills, combining personal experience, expression and imagination into becoming one of today most exciting lyricists. With over ten years of writing, rapping and performing, Jay Nigma’s continued work with producer Bitterknight forms a damaging duo in the realm of Hip-Hop.
