It's all about music

About Me

I work at a software company. Privately, I love to run (marathon) and listen to music, mainly BRYAN ADAMS. As well, I am a big football fan (to my USA friends out there: I talk about SOCCER). Travelling is another passion of me, with New York, Vancouver and Berlin being my favourite places so far.
My wife is the most important person in my life. I am happy to say that I have a couple of real friends; I know some of them for 25 years now. My family is very important for me as well.

If you did not fall asleep yet by reading this, you are welcome to drop me a line. Probably you have to get to know me to find out the interesting parts about me. Maybe there are some.

Please visit my Bryan Adams Forum: www.bryanadams-forum.com

Please support - just like I do:

UNICEF
amnesty international
Berlin Center for the Treatment of Torture Victims (German website with English parts)

My Interests

Music, running, movies, football (soccer), travelling. Black humour. Good food.

I'd like to meet:

- People who love music, especially the one from BRYAN ADAMS!
- Bryan personally (I guess I am #268395 in THAT row)
- Fans of German football team Eintracht Braunschweig
- nice people from around the world, ready for a good conversation

Music:

Bryan Adams. Beside of that:
Bryan Adams.
Fans since 1984, first record "Reckless", first gig Hamburg 1987, 51 gigs so far.

I am addicted.

When not listening to Bryan, I like e.g.

- Toto (STEVE LUKATHER!)
- Rick Springfield
- Robbie Williams
- U2
- German band "Fury in the slaughterhouse"
- German band BAP
- Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen, of course
- Joe Satriani
- Metallica
- have I already mentioned Bryan Adams?
- van Halen
- Linkin Park
- The Hooters

Worth to be mentioned outside of this enumaration:

SONNIT

Sonnit is still my favourite German band, although they have only released one record. But this record is a gem. It looks like as if they will release another one this year (after four years...), but so many strange things happened to this band that we have to wait and see.
If you ever have a chance to grab a copy of "Popgun" (this is the name of their record), simply buy it. "Heaven is close" and "Get your mind free" are outstanding.
Sonnit is the most talented German band ever, and I hope and pray that one day their way will lead them to the top - no matter how many mountains they have to climb or oceans they have to swim or failures of record companies they have to bear.

Movies:

Anything that is good, no specific genre. Examples:
- Forrest Gump
- Schindler's list
- Munich (- also Spielberg - fantastic!)
- Bad Boys I + II (pure Hollywood but somehow cool)
- any film with Nicole Kidman
- From dusk till dawn
- The Big Lebowski
- Fargo
- Backt to the Future (I - III)
- The Green Mile
- Lord of the Rings
- anything from Tarantino (I still did not find one second that is bad in his films)
- Desperado
- Pink Panther (- Peter Sellers)
- couple of movies with Louis de Funes
- anything from Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Out of sight,...)
- anything from Michael Moore (Bowling for Columbine,...)

Television:

- 24

Books:

- anything from Charles Bukowski
- novels with a good story that simply entertain me, like (partly) Michael Crichton

Heroes:

Heroes are often people we personally do not know. They are heroes because of their public image.
Anyway, Bryan Adams might be someone I would call a hero; without knowing each other, he has found a kind of language with his music that touches my soul deeply. My family and friends are heroes for me, of course. People who stand steady dispite of pressure, who fight for their believes (as long as these beliefs are based on democratic and human ideals...) dispite of being intimidated, imprisoned, even tortured - civil-rights activists, dissidents, environmentalists. Can I call an orginazation a hero? If so, organizations like UNICEF and AI are heroes, too.

That was the official part.

In fact, my wife was, is and will always be my biggest hero. I could imagine my life without , but she is someone who is essential for me...
