Sounds Like: MC Sherz, is a Melbourne born rapper from the South East, currently residing in Cranbourne also known as C-Town. He is best known for his immaculate flow and his collaborations with Pray For Us Productions founder and proprietor, The Don Shaquan Ghost. He studies full-time at St. Peter’s College in Cranbourne when he’s not creating another hit song and classic album. MC Sherz started his career with Pray For Us Productions, which was founded and still owned by The Don Shaquan Ghost. When the label was established in September, 2005, Shaquan Ghost began looking for unseen talent to become a part of his label, when he thought of MC Sherz. The two had few ties, but they were familiar with each other.MC Sherz accepted the proposition and instantly became a major part of Pray For Us Productions. He released the major underground hit Masters at Work, which was a great collaboration with Shaquan Ghost late 2006, and then released the mix tape, The Rise To Power-The World Is Yours The Mix tape early 2007. The Mix Tape had some underground success with its two hits, The World Is Yours and How You Livin’ Dirty. The mix tape was MC Sherz’s debut mix tape, and his first major collaboration with another artist. Currently MC Sherz is working on a new mix tape with Shaquan Ghost, which has been planned to be entitled Unleashed. The mix tape is only in its early stages, so it is likely that it won’t be released until as late as September 2007. The mix tape will feature some of the duo’s amazing talent, spanning from freestyles to fresh written tracks about a wide range of topics. The mix tape is undoubtedly going to be one of the duo’s finest pieces of work. Before MC Sherz became a major recording artist in the underground, he was a club emcee, working with some of the best in the industry.A few of his collaborations include MC Junior, his mentor and the person who gave him his name. He’s also worked with DJ Dir-X, whom is his cousin, and has done a great deal of work with various members of C4, which is an event management team, that brings global artist from around the world to perform in their clubs. Some people they have brought down are Cassie, Ryan Leslie and much, much more. His first hit, which was Masters at Work, was his great break into the underground scene. This song isn’t considered his finest piece of work, yet it still posses enough strength to make a great song. It may not have fared too well in the charts, although, it did get him a great deal of exposure to the public and the hip-hop fans of Melbourne and people all around the world. The song was basically about MC Sherz and Shaquan Ghost stating that they were people to be respected and that they weren’t people to fool around with. The rhythmic style of this was quite simple yet affective. His second hit, which was from The Rise To Power-The World Is Yours The Mix tape, was the mix tape’s most successful track and could possibly be one of MC Sherz’s biggest hits. This track did a great job in the spoken word and positive vibes charts, yet failed to have any substantial success in any other charts.Even though it wasn’t the biggest hit in the underground, it was a major hit and it could possibly be the track that brought not only MC Sherz, but also the Pray For Us Productions label to a new level of fame, on its rise to the top. The track was a laid back song about holding tight to the ambitions one has, and to keep fighting your way to achieve them. As it was a laid back track, the rhythm was also fairly slow, but it possessed the right elements to touch the hearts of many people whom had heard it. His next hit was also off The Rise To Power-The World Is Yours The Mix tape, and it was titled How U Livin’ Dirty. This track was a dedication to the people whom were close to the duo who’d lost their lives, and that even though they’ve died, they are going to live strong in their names. It was an upbeat song so it could even be played in a club, but the song has some strong lyrics so it is advised that you pay some attention to what is being said. His latest track, I get high is simply about getting high. It is yet to attain any chart success in the underground, but has been heard by many and has been acclaimed on countless occasions. It is another laid back song, but thanks to its immaculate rhythm that MC Sherz always delivers, it continues to maintain MC Sherz’s signature flow. At one period, MC Sherz had a minor feud with Drew Gunn. The feud was fairly one sided as Drew Gunn hadn’t released any tracks, and after the Drew Gunn Diss by MC Sherz was released, a major amount of the Melbourne hip-hop underground fans had heard the song. Not only did this track insult and disgrace Drew Gunn, but it also attained some recognition as many labels had requested permission to feature the track on their own mix tapes. It’s no wonder why many people were enticed by this track as his delivery was cold, and the rhythm was strong, slightly slow for clarity, yet his signature flow was still evident. Before MC Sherz was signed to Pray For us Productions, he was a club emcee working with major club superstars, DJ Dir-X, whom is now an owner of the C4 event management group, Mike Jones, organizer for underage events like Lush, and MC Junior, MC Sherz’s mentor and the person who gave him his name, just to name a few. MC Sherz was a big hit in the clubs as he made mediocre club events the party of the year with his impeccable style and his almost supernatural charisma. MC Sherz started rapping at 12, and his first performance was in his primary school talent quest. He performed the Snoop Dogg verse in the smash hit Bow Wow track. Bow Wow (That’s my Name). The track was performed with his good friend Lance. Lance performed the Bow Wow verses, and the hook. The performance was a major hit with the people, and since then, MC Sherz has been a major hit amongst the people. Thanks to his past experience as a phenomenal club emcee, he has been able to create some of the best hip-hop music in Melbourne, along with Shaquan Ghost, the Pray For Us Productions label and many more great emcees all around Melbourne. Although MC Sherz hasn’t released any solo mix tapes or albums at this point, he is working on a mix tape with Shaquan Ghost, panned to be entitled Unleashed and also has his own personal mix tape project, in mind and is working on it at the moment. His debut solo mix tape will be entitled The Streets Quran.
