He studied both classical and jazz guitar at Virginia Commonwealth University before transferring to the University of Miami, where he received his B.M. in Studio Music & Jazz, and his M.M. in Jazz Pedagogy. While at the University of Miami, Chris was the graduate teaching assistant for jazz guitar and for two years held the position of guitarist with the Grammy nominated U.M. Concert Jazz Band. From 2006-2007 Chris was on faculty at U.M. and the acting director of jazz guitar studies in fall 2007.In addition to being a jazz instrumentalist, Chris is also involved in many other areas of the music industry. He was the original guitarist for the now defunct hip-hop/spoken word group the Jazz Poets Society. The group released two albums and toured the US extensively as a headliner, as well as opening for such acts as a Tribe Called Quest and The Roots. In 2005 he co-wrote the title track of jazz vocalist Robin Stine's debut CD entitled "Daydream". Chris is also a freelance studio guitarist. His credits include movies, television, video games, and major label releases.
