People on Trial

We the People................................................. Formed in the winter of 2006, People on Trial combine the elements of rock & roll, punk, and reggae to create a sound all their own. Following the lead left by their influences, (i.e. Sublime, The Clash and NOFX), People on Trial bring songs filled with tales of woe, weed smoking and drunken nights followed by forgetful mornings. People on Trial is Derek Scott, lead vocals and guitar…Jason Winter, vocals and bass and James Hurley on drums. Since their conception in 2006 People on Trial or P.O.T. have played countless Chicago and suburb venues including The Double Door, Otto’s Nite Club, Subterrainien and The Note and also have shared the stage with national acts including Local-H and The Tossers. In the spring of 2007 People on Trial began working on their first album entitled “Suppressed & Underdressed”...some tracks have already been leaked but the entire album is set for release in the spring of 2008 on Window Licker Records. Already with a very large fan base in the Chicagoland area, People on Trial continue to attract attention and new fans with every show and every note…bringing an electric stage show that challenges an audience to get involved, dance and sing along. Crowds seem to hang on Derek’s every word while Jason is running around the venue dancing with the crowd and Jim (the human drum machine) is beating his drums like they owe him money. Here to stay, People on Trial continue to play everywhere while writing new music and constantly improving their live show. go see the People
