Silversweet was born when a young Jon and Ash, who at the age of 15 got a band of mates together to jam at their school x-mas concert.
After a successful performance the band established itself and became a rock covers/original songs outfit under the name of 'The Beyond', after several local gigs the line up started to drift apart, leaving the impossible task of finding a singer; enter Jason whose general look and attitude epitomised Rock n' Roll. Now as a four piece the band put themselves away for several months to work on original tunes and then set out supporting local rock bands under the name 'Silversweet'.
In the late summer of 2006 drummer Steve suddenly quit, leaving the band no option but to take an unwanted break in which time Ash and Jon started playing with other bands.However at the begining of 2007 a mutual feeling between lasting members was made to bring Silversweet back and to recruit new drummer Mark and original rhythm guitar player Martin to give a fuller more developed sound for the band.
With new faces and attitude Silversweet are a band to look out for, they have been described as:
'Playing a unique brand of heavy rock packed with originality and over-flowing with power!' with all members determined to bring back traditional Rock n' Roll with a hell of alot of noise!!!
