About Me

Bom dia! Como vai? Bonjour! Como sa va? I am a college chemistry professor who has led an interesting life. The things in life that mean the most to me are my family and friends. I have many famous friends, including one who walked on the moon, a Nobel Prize winner in Medicine, an Olympic Gold Medalist, and several others who are movie and TV stars. I retired from Bevill State Community College in AL after 25 years as a Chemistry Professor, Academic Division Chair, and Distance Learning Administrator. I was also the faculty member most dedicated to the athletic programs there. I worked at Johnson Space Center in Houston on the manned mission to Mars project and also served as Administrative Director at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. The two most "trying" events in my life were serving one year in combat as a Field Artillery Officer with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam and coping with my mom's 5-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease.I recently came out of retirement to work at Pensacola Junior College (where I get a lot of beach time). I plan to stay here for 2 to 3 years and then retire permanently. At that time, I plan to do volunteer work for a physician friend in Brazil who owns and operates a cancer treatment center for children.
