About Me

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: amandaduncan.com
Band Members: Just me! I don't know if that really needs an exclamation point...I just like using them! I will give you my musical specs. My main instrument is acoustic guitar, then djembe (african drum), somewhat mandolin (but I aspire to be great one day), and soon banjo...it is hanging on the wall with the rest of the instruments.
Influences:

Dixie Chicks , Dar Williams , Guster , JoDee Messina , Rusted Root , Stevie Wonder , James Taylor , Tenacious D , The Allman Brothers, Jimmy Buffett , Grateful Dead, Bare Naked Ladies , GooGoo Dolls , Indigo Girls , Rascal Flatts , Dave Matthews Band , Nickel Creek , Bela Fleck and the Flecktones , Joanna Burns , Joe Badala ...as far as musicians...the list goes on.

And since I'm signed up as a musician, I wanted to put up other fun stuff about myself for you to get to know me EVEN BETTER...whooohooo!

My Heroes:
First and foremost...my Mom, my Dad and my brother! Ellen Degeneres (She makes me pee my pants and has such a good heart...she is a genious), & Paula Dean.

My Favorite Movies:
Billy Madison, The Wedding Singer (yes, I'm an Adam Sandler fan!), Tommy Boy, of course your staple estrogen movies...Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, and When Harry Met Sally! Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Deuce Bigalow/Male Gigalow, How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days, all the Harry Potter movies (although the books are better), School of Rock (and the legend of the rent was way hardcore!!!), The Cutting Edge, Miss Congeniality, Pleasantville, A Christmas Story (Not a Finga!), there are so many more...but I will stop...thanks for reading all that if you did!

TV:
The Food Network , Heroes, & Dexter.

Sounds Like: Well, not that any of us who write original music want to sound like anyone...I will admit I have my influences...so I will list the people who I'm told I "sound like" Dar Williams, Jewel (God help me), the lead singer from the Dixie Chicks (Natalie Maines), the Indigo Girls, I get Patty Griffin fairly often, a few times I've gotten Tegan and Sara, and one lone occasion Feist (and that my friends kicks major booty).

Type of Label: None

My New Song....Love I Have for You

Well...I am happy to say that I posted up a new song. Since I recorded it myself, it is full of mistakes, mismatched tempos, some pitchy vocals, and a rough mix to finish it off. BUT what I can say is...
