Mechanics of Things

About Me

Mechanics of Things originated in Boston,Ma around 1998. Several songs were written and were made into early demos. Since then the band has changed hands several times before settling on the current lineup. Paul Conaway's vocal style has been compared to many illustrious rock singers;Jim Morrison, Chris Cornell,Glenn Danzig and James Hetfield to name a few, but in the tradition of every great rock vocalist, he makes these influences his own and transcends them, becoming unmistakable and unique. The result? a singer finally worth listening to! Scott Alberts plays guitar like he's driving a corvette; 100% energy. His unbridled enthusiasm and rock solid rhythms are the core of this band. Scott showcases his talents in the riffs and song structures that fuel the power of Mechanics of Things. He is the muscle that holds all the other elements together. Jim Prokop is the newest member of MOT. Jim's musical tastes are extremely diverse,he could be playing anything from jazz to industrial. This is reflected in his extrordinary drumming, which is quickly cementing MOT's sound.Easily the finest drummer to enter the band,Jim's energy, skills and humor are quickly meshing with rest of MOT. Brad Stutzman could be said to belong to a dying breed; the roll-on-the-floor-go-into-an-epileptic-fit-peel-the-paint-of f-the-walls sort of lead guitarist that made rock-n-roll breathtaking. Add in his songwriting skills, his raw old-school sound and Brad has become a vital element to Mechanics of Things.
