About Me

Recently returned from Iraq and in the process of getting back to a normal life. Its funny how you miss the little things when away for 358 days. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Interests

Day hikes at McConnels Mills, Fly fishing Slippery Rock and Neshannock Creeks, Canoeing, Backpacking, Kyaking and just being alive

I'd like to meet:

People that understand what life is really about. Non materialistic, artistic, creative, and with a respect for the beauty of the outdoors.

Music:

Pretty much anything except hard core rap and twangy country: Examples- NIN, KMFDM, Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, Rage against the Machine, Enya, Enigma, Clannad, Black '47, U2 ( old school like Sunday Bloody Sunday era ), The Clash, The Police, pretty much ecclectic and diverse, also love classical ( Vivaldi is my fav )

Movies:

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels; The Big Lebowski; Memento; Snatch; What Dreams May Come; The Usual Suspects; The Professional; The 5th Element; not much of a horror movie fan unless the first Alien movie counts as one?

Television:

AFN ( Armed Forces Network ) Commercials cause PTSD normal TV really doesnt have much to offer but I do peruse the History channel and TLC as well as Animal Planet with my daughter from time to time when I can

Books:

The Dune Series ( no pun intended ); Starship Troopers ( I am in the Army ya know ) ; mostly Sci-FI ; The Prince is one of my favorite pieces of literature as was Candide by Voltaire but it has been a long time since I have read that one. Mostly have my nose buried in medical stuff right at the moment

Heroes:

NYFD and EMT services for their dedication and sacrifice on 9/11 ; My fellow grunts and Devil Dogs that are out in the trenches day in day out and the few Iraqis that are big enough to stand up to the Militias and the militants to make their country truly free as well as the men and women of our Air Force and Navy for all they do to support us grunts and ground pounders.

First Impression of Iraq

Ya know I am really amazed at how desolate this country is?  You would think that the place that was the birth of so much culture could get out of the 8th century and join the rest of the world?&...
