Aptly titled Trompe L’oeil, Elke Kramer’s latest collection deceives as much as it

delights. Bold geometrical shapes and colours induce memories of childhood toys –

clockwork, Rubik’s puzzles, meccano, jointed snakes, the zany graphics of

board games – as well as aesthetic throwbacks to Deco and Op Art.

Segments, twists, flips, spins, pivots and rivets invite play and interactivity, their

motion yielding surprises in illusory imagery and unexpected tricks.

With an emphasis on high production values and sophisticated use of materials,

Trompe L’oeil represents a significant progression in Kramer’s work,

while retaining her signature frivolity and unique aesthetic trademark. The huge 30-piece

collection includes for the first time rings and bracelets as well as

neckpieces, pendants, earrings, and a mens range, making it Kramer’s largest,
