I have so much to be grateful for, I think the creator for answering my request to find my perfect self expression and guiding me along the way. I am also very grateful that I have been a witness to the elevation and expansion of the conciousness of so many of us who are falling in love with our natural beauty. This healing definitely comes from a cellular level, especially because of the imprisonment we suffer by the imagery of what it takes to live comfortably to be a professional and be accepted in this country and as a "MATTER OF FACT" the world! As one who has also dealt with the process of our healing, I've also shared in our pain that has caused us to apply harsh chemicals to our hair to change it's texture. The truth of the pain is that it comes from feeling ugly and worthless because we did'nt have "GOOD HAIR", and that we developed so many techniques to alter the natural and beautiful texture of our own hair to be accepted and to "Fit In".That's why it is so comforting as I look around. I am blessed and nourished by the beautiful images of our natural hair, enjoying it's liberation and it's expression of the love we have for ourselves AS WE ARE!Spiritually our locs brought in freedom of expression that broke the barriers of conformity. As an "evolved species", we have emerged as uncontrollable human beings, who are ready to take the risk of embracing the self and ignoring negative comments about having a "Nappy Head" from our family, friends, the community.....even comments on the job, hey were.."HAPPY TO BE NAPPY".Reguardless of spiritual, social or political backround, spirit enters the body through the head and dwells there, we've always known this. If you look at most African sculptures, the head is always the biggest part, or most adorned. From the moment we enter this world till the time we depart, we anoint, bless, wash, pray and spiritually prepare our heads to carry us through life. As Yoruba priest, I plan to pray over many heads, invoking harmony, clarity, love, beauty and peace of mind. Every ORI (head) is sacred. The acceptance of locs always takes the wearer deeper into the private and sacred spaces of our heads that challange all standards of beauty that have been forced on our conciousness since we have arrived here. This is definitely an ancestral transformation.I believe I am inthis realm of ancestral healing of our crowns by using my hands and my talent on hundreds of crowns. travel layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com MyHotComments
